WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 16, 2007 2002 Vintage, 375ml bottle bonus from Beastiefan2k, thanks Eugene. Pours brown with a thin tan head. The nose has a lot of raspberry feels potentially artificial like the raspberry in lindemanns. The taste is full of raspberry but not entirely sweet, with some tartness on the back end. Its refreshing very carbonated and highly drinkable. Nice beer. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 14, 2007 (375 ml bottle) Clear dark brown color, small tan head. Dominating raspberry scent, also a bit acidic. Acidic raspberry taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, no bitterness. A bit too much like a soft drink perhaps. Dedoulequeen07 (136), london, Greater London, England Jun 10, 2007 hazy pinky purple colour with a light bubbly head. Freshly picked raspberries, brambles and soft red fruits on the nose with a edge of sweet raspberry couli and a little sourness but not the funk. Good blend of the fantastic sour cheek puckering gueze and tart raspberries with a light fizzy wine character. An extremely drinkable beer but the kriek version is my favourite over this Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2007 Bottle. Hazy, burgundy, ruby appearance, small head. Bubbly. Earthy raspberry aroma. Flavor is, surprise, raspberries. Some wood flavors. Very sweet. Low alc, sour notes and tartness provide for a refreshing dessert drink. vadersnightcap (80), Scotland Jun 8, 2007 a purple beer. My first one of those. Amazing interesting typically belgian beer.
Raspberries dominate everything about this beer. The flavor was sweet but mostly tart
Makes the inside of your mouth water!
I was impressed even though Im not usually a big fan of raspberries. The mouthfeel was quite carbonated and sweet.
very nice robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 7, 2007 very deep red colro, very nice pink head. Aroma is of tart and sour raspberries. Flavour is again, quite tart, and sour, but the raspberries really comes through. The finish is again very tart. Super nice beer, very interesting, the 1st flemish sour i have that is flavoured with fruit. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jun 3, 2007 Junedale Beer Klub - June Beer Tasting ("Fruity" Beers)
5/30/2007: Liefman’s Frambozenbier is a cloudy brown color and has a foamy tan head. The aroma and flavor both have raspberry, sweet caramel-ish malt, and a hint of sourness. The flavor has some additional tartness and acidic qualities with a hint of cork/woody as well as being slightly yeasty. This beer has a medium body and is smooth and not overly carbonated. This beer is pretty good, but I actually like the Liefmans de Boomgaard Tropicale slightly more overall due to its uniqueness.
12/7 oz/375 mL corked and capped bottles (A7029; 4.5% Alc. Vol.; Best by 01/2017) shared by Zymurgy. Thanks Terry!
mj (4975), Colorado, USA May 18, 2007 750mL bottle. Dark burgundy and cherry purple colored body. Candy sweet raspberry flavors, with some muddled lactic cream flavors as well. Sweet raspberry seed nose with more cream and milk scents, and almost a wet and damp paper scent and flavor in this beer. It’s a bit strange overall, almost smells and tastes a bit like plaster... texture is a bit fizzy and soda-like... it’s only very slightly sour, and no where near as good as the Liefman’s Kriekbier.
