DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jun 18, 2006 Draft tulip shaped snifter at 3Floyd’s. Sweet raspberry smell, of course. Color is red-brown with smoke in appearance. A thin fizzy soda head. Taste is of raspberries, with sourness more from fruit than anything else, although I would guess at some brett. Creaminess in mouthfeel, which at first I put to wheat but just maybe the light Belgian malts. In other words, it’s a fruit beer that keeps much of its beer background instead of being some soda pop. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway May 30, 2006 Keg at Maltings York 4 May 06. Dark red colour. Pink head. A sparkling champagne feeling. Raspberry all the way. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg May 22, 2006 Dark red, ruby. Nice and lively, head lasts well. Very berry aroma, something else there too, disguises the alcohol quite well. Delicious drinker, very straightforward ale. Nice sour bite at the end. Alcohol is un-noticeable. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA May 20, 2006 Updated: Jul 26, 2006Dark rasberry red. Aroma is all berry, like a frozen rasberry sherbet. The taste is of tart rasberry. This is not as comlex funk as the other Liefmans I tried. This tends to be more flavored by the fruit than anythin else. I love the sourness of it. A great after dinner drink. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada May 17, 2006 Fantastic aroma of raspberries (obviously) and almost feels like your in a field full of berries. Very well balanced between sweetness, bitterness. What Don Perignon is to Champagne, the Liefman Frambozenbier is to beer. A must for the lady looking for a nice sweet beer. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA May 12, 2006 Raspberry aroma wafts from the bright pink glass. There is a very nice raspberry zing in the flavor with an underlying tart palate. A nice amount of funkiness and spritsiness make this a very drinkable and tasty beer. Doesn’t quite come off as a flemish sour, though. Goudenbond was hardly sour to begin with. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA May 12, 2006 Rating No. 333: Love these dusty, old, unlabelled bottles wrapped in paper. 2005er according to the cork. Opaque ruby black, pinkish beige head. Smells like, well, raspberries (which I love). Tastes the same. Sweetish with a touch of tang/sourness and a somewhat dry finish. Smooth and full in the mouth, refreshing. I’ll have to disagree wth many of the raters on this board; in my bottle, at least, the sweet sugary taste was surpassed by sourness. A nice blend, satisfying. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 8, 2006 cloudy Fruity reddish with lots of pink foam. Very sweet and also you can taste the raspberries. Aroma of raspberry, sugar, and a touch of the farm. Appropriate carbonation. Tangy finish and sediment. Refreshing, although drying aftertaste. A nice one
