onystrom (741), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark Feb 12, 2006 Muddy red color with okay head. Fine aroma but its too sweet and bitter. Tastes like cough medicin. saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Feb 11, 2006 Quite a pretty looking beer, all purple and whatnot. Tons of raspberries in the aroma and flavor. Too much actually. The tasty base flemish sour is drowned out in a mass of raspberry juice HenrikSoegaard (4263), Randers, Denmark Feb 11, 2006 Bottle 0.375 L. Creamy pink excellent head. Mostly lasting. Nice raspberry aroma and flavor. OK palate. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia Feb 8, 2006 Little apprehensive to try this one as other Frambozen’s have tasted more like sparkling fruit wine than anything resembling Belgium’s most proud and sacramentous of beer styles. Tasted from the bottle into a chalice at just cooler than room temperature. Sparkling deep burgundy body; absolutely dancing in the lights with a frothy pink lather of cream that lasted, leaving legs down the glass. Rich ripe raspberries on the nose; so fresh and thick it consumed the aroma with a sweet, tart aswell as lightly vinous mix that was truly inviting. Sharper than expected at first in the mouth with spicy and acidic, tart fruit dominating the palate. This softened, I guess as my palate adjusted and showed softer sweet fruits like strawberries, cherries and the obvious fresh crushed taste of overly ripe, soaked raspberries. Spritzy in carbonation but so gentle as to only assist in filling the mouth, it was rather creamy and lightly frothy on the tongue giving it a greater feel of body than it really had. An undertone of soft, pale cheese and driftwood coming in that develops late into drinking and the back end had a lovely bitter balance like the taste of grapevines after harvest, before a fresher than fresh, fruity swallow that lingered for long, long afterwards. This was an absolutely tasty little number that even had my wifes approval, cleverly balanced between acidity, sweetness and all things nice. Beautifully crafted and another winner from Liefman’s. (37,5cL, BBE 2014, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville) zathrus13 (1288), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA Feb 5, 2006 Pours dark red/brown, with a light brown head. Aromas are raspberries, and some malt. Flavors are raspberries, and some sour malt. Desent, but not great. Brigadier (1212), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Jan 29, 2006 Picked up at the Cellars in Minnetonka. It was a deep burgandy. The aroma contained raspberries and hints of cherries, with a tinge of sourness. The immediate taste was of raspberries, a balanced sweetness and sourness. Very dry and smooth, it was more like a soft drink than a beer. Easy to drink, although at $5.99 for a 12oz bottle, I probably will not be seeking this out much. sarah3961 (29), allston, Massachusetts, USA Jan 28, 2006 On tap at the Sunset Grill and the Publick House. Very dark reddish brown. Almost sour but not quite- also not too sweet. The raspberry flavor is present but not overwhelming, as is the sweetness. Really good overall- although I do like mouth-puckering sours, which this is not, it is very good. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Jan 27, 2006 Cask handpull at Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Very dark reddish brown, pinkish beige head. Like the cherry version, this is a well made beer. Fruit integrates perfectly with the malt. Refreshing raspberry ripple ice cream aroma. Fruit never becomes syrupy or over powering. Dry sour finish with lingering fruit. I love these beers
