Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, nuts), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a strong note of fresh raspberries, light note of juniper. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/watery mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Nice malty brown ale base, with carton-of-fresh-raspberries aroma and a nice sweet/sour balance for a fruit beer. Some tannins would be a nice addition, though, and I’m surprised it has so little. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia

Watch out for the particles at the bottom. Flavour is immediately of fresh, tart rasberries with maybe some cherry as well. Powerful sour finish which is an acquired taste, but I’d like to try more. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2004 (Bottled, 4.5% ABV, 0.375l) Hazy, dark amber color with a smallish, beige head. A pleasant, sourish and slightly sweet raspberry aroma. Semi-dry, quite natural raspberry flavor with a sweetish, sticky finish. Medium-bodied, softly sour, slightly sugary palate with balanced carbonation. Would probably be better without raspberries, but as a fruit beer, this is certainly a very pleasant one. Very refreshing. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark
