Bright red. Smells like Cherry Jam on toast, followed up with more Cherry jam on toast. Smells like cherry. Have I made that clear? Tastes like that, too, but not quite as much as it smells. Very viscous & syrupy. Good, but would probably be a chore to drink more than 1...

muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUN 8, 2005
Draught sample from the McAusland booth at the Mondial. Dark purplish red with a lasting touch of pink foam and some lacing, nearly opaque....sweet, simple fruity nose is pleasant enough if more like sweetened juice than beer...very, very sugary body with barely a hint of tartness, much like cough syrup without the alcohol burn...reminiscent of Lindemans, but even more unbalanced. Candy in a glass; I don’t know that I could drink more than four ounces of this, and why would I want to?

Bottle. Dark red beer with a light head. The aroma is deeply sweet cherries and the flavour is very sweet cherries. Overall a nice beer.

Boutip (3977) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 21, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2005 Bottle: Poured a bright pink color liquid with a huge bubbly head with very little retention. Aroma is totally dominated by the cherry syrup and nothing else can be distinguished. Taste is also dominated by the cherry syrup that I didn’t particularly enjoyed since it was way too sweet for my liking. I wasn’t expecting something earth shattering but I wasn’t expecting something similar to this.

Clear pink color, with a medium pink head. Smells like cherry, cherry, oh and cherry. Sweet and slightly sour flavor of cherry. Sticky palate. When i ordered this at the Beerpassion Festival in Antwerp, the brewer said to me: "Quite nice beer for your girlfriend". And so it is...

Pours deep, clear ruby into a tumbler. Bright pink head with medium retention recedes with scant spiders to hug rim. Cherry bomb aromas. Musty, sweet candied cherries turning to a cherry biscuit finish. Sweet, but well made.

ClarkVV (3579) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 8, 2005
On draught at Mondial, June 2005. Good pink head, well-retained with lacing, atop a cherry-juice red body, quite hazy. Aroma of cherry ludens (cough drop/candies) with light raspberries. Notes of tartness, some light powdery yeast and sugar. Cherry licorice, perhaps. Flavor is all out chewy sweet-tarts. Some very light souring on the end. So much candy it’s hard to believe. Body is all sugar, not watery, of course, but there is little, or probably no beer here. Low carbonation, slightly powdery mouthfeel. Full sugared body.

Sweet dark cherry, like a Hostess Fruit Pie or cherry Lifesaver type sweetness. Blood red clear with thin pink lacing head. Medium watery body with high carbonation. Starts with nice cherry tartness, like homemade sour cherry pie. Induces a little saliva. Medium acidity, but not harsh. Sweet cherry finish, just a bit of hops. Pleasant sweet cherry after. Not very deep, more like a good tart cherry soda, but better than some other fruit beers or cherry lambics I’ve tried.

oldrtybastrd (3228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 27, 2011
Pours a deep red with aromas of sour, light cherries. The body was medium and was sour, tart. Cherries seeped through enough and it was smoothe and easy.

Excellent beer, I do not know whay is so underrated, but the taste is very sweet, almost like eating the cherries.
