Bottle from Systembolaget (60 SEK). Drunk hot like Swedish glögg. Small or no similarities to normal beer. Lot´s of cherries. Sweet. Deep red. Quite good in rather small amounts.

750ml paperwrapped green corked and caged bottle, poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is hazy ruby red with a creamy small pink head, that left some lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, candied cherries, cinnamon, carnation spice and a hint of barnyard. Flavours of candied cherries, cinnamon, carnation spice, ginger, cardamon, rum and vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet and light sour. Palate is medium bodied, sligtly sticky texture and average carbonation. Liefmans Glühkriek is spicy and has a flavour profile somewhat reminescent of Glögg (a Nordic variant of mulled wine). The beer is more palatable when it is somewhat warm (13-16 degrees). An interesting beer with familiar Christmas flavours, quite nice and tasty in small servings.

Bottle at Fairbar. Deep red body. Rich cherry aroma. Smells a bit like hot cherry sauce. Full sweet and sour taste. Very fruity. Light body with (perhaps) high carbonation. The sensation of the carbonation changes a lot when the beer is warm so it is actually difficult to tell. Overall, this was a very unusual experience, but I really enjoyed it. This beer fits the Christmas season perfectly.

(Bottle, half tried cold and half tried warm) Dark red colour. Cold, it’s flat with brief bubbly head. Warm, it gets a dense pinkish head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of cherries, red fruit, spices (cinnamon, cardamom, clove) and a touch of caramel or toffee. Fruity, spicy taste with cherries, Swedish glögg (spicy, sweetened red wine served around Christmas), spices and a touch of treacle toffee. Medium body, quite sweet. Fruity, tasty and spicy. Preferred it warm, would work nicely on a cold winter’s eve. Nice one.

Bottle, courtesy of Toni, thanks! Strong sour cherry aroma, but with herbs and clear woodruff. Sweet on the tongue, but with a rather dry palate. Matching sourness. Very nice!

Heerlijk bier om in de winter te drinken. Het heeft wat weg van gluhwein maar dan wat fruitvoller. Hier wordt ik heel blij van.

Sample at Essen Kerstbierfestival 2014, shared with Mathieu87. Found back notes that where lost. APPEARANCE: red beer, with heat coming out, weird to have a beer like this. NOSE: very very spicy and cherry extract. TASTE: spices and kriek, nothing more actually, bit too hot even to drink in the beginning...

Det beste man kan si om denne er at det er alkohol... Sur og udefinerbar smak som verken er fugl eller fisk. Og det var ikke en dårlig flaske, for flaske nummer to smakte like spesielt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

@ Havregatan 150130. Bottle (750 ml) from Systembolaget. Fruity and quite glöggish and spicy (cinnamon and cloves), cherries, really sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, fruity and very sweet.

Nei. Varmet opp som anbefalt. Vinrød farge med lysrosa skum. Lukter gamle bær og krydder. Smaker kirsebær med en del kanel. Alt for søt. Lite glass før jeg varmet den opp, mer kryddersmak da.
