Flaska från SB. Mörkt brunröd med beige skum. Syrlig, glöggig doft med dominans av körsbärsgodis. Söt och syrlig med tydliga glöggkryddor och körsbär.

Pours a deep purple body with a medium head. Complex aroma of spices and cherries. Very nice and rich taste of spices and cherries, a winner.

750ml bottle. Red body with a medium head. Sour cherries and spices pretty much. Suits the occasion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Heated in tap@Erzbierschof. Dark amber color with hardly any head. Aroma is sour cherries and spices, you can feel the Kriek basis. Taste is not as full as expected, but still nice with spices and fruitiness, similar to a Glühwein. Something different for a beer in winter, but cannot compete with a proper Kriek.

gyllenbock (5030) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 6, 2014
Bottle from Systembolaget, I tried this beer both cold and heated to 70 degrees Celsius. The rating is for the cold one. (I prefered that), Hazy reddish with a medium head. Quite a lot of cherries, spices (mainly cinnamon). Also something that reminded of lingonberries. Some light tartness in the finish. Medium carbonation. An ok beer although on the sweet side.

750 ml bottle. Heated half and kept the other half chilled. Clear red with small pink head. Smell is cherries, bubble gum and fruit. Taste is sweet and spicy with cinnamon and ginger for the chilled one. When heatedthe beer became much more sour with stables mixed with christmas spices.Low bitterness and medium carbonation.

Pours a dark brown with small beige head. Cinnamon forward aroma, a little red fruit and some brett in the background. Sweet palate, no acidity to speak of, no brett on the palate, some spices. Very pleasant and nice Christmas beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I had a 25/33cl bottle with best before end of ... well 1997-99, but no later, so it was probably 15-17 years old. Smelled lovely of glögg or similar. I would have predicted it to be 5 years old - still very fresh. Half of it got heatet to around 50-70 degrees C, the other half was drunk at around 5-10C. I haven’t tried it young, but guess it would be o-kay. It’s not my preferred style. More fun than good I guess. But it’s nice in its teens ... not too old!

75cl bottle served hot. Cannot comment too much on looks as it was served in a stone chalice however, it did look a little flat but a nice cherry colour. Aroma is heavy cherry and spice. Taste is more of the same with both the sweet and sour qualities of the cherries shining through and the woody spicy notes balancing the palate. Impressive that the carbonation remains despite being served hot - it almost feels as though it effervesces on your tongue. A real winter warmer and one I will try again.
