jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Jun 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured a ruddy color with a nice tan head. Aroma is somewhat vinegary, with alcohol, sour cherry, and a bit of must. Tart flavor, with some sweetness, and earthy as well. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 Beautiful ruby brown with a disappearing off-white head. Aroma is fruity, with raspberry and cherry notes, and filled with good caramel and bready malt. Just a little dusty funk.
Flavour is sweet and malty with fruit, tartness and some funk.
dutch23mp (160), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA Jun 8, 2008 Not to my special liking as i am not into this style. But being fair it is a well crafted brew very complex. I have heard this is the bases for many of the Belgium beers that fruit is added to. Just not a fan of those but can appreciate. TheEpeeist (1430), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2008 12.7 oz bottle, 2006. Hazy dark caramel with a dusting of white froth. Nose is sour, sweet cherry with apricot, toffee and wood. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2008 A nice sour ale. Aroma was incredible. Strong vinegar. Smelled like I was dying Easter eggs. Pour was a nice deep brown with a one finger off white/near tan head. Taste was nice and sour. Strong vinegar and acidic flavors with a hint of sour cherries and funk. Not much carbonation and dries the mouth after the sip. With a little more carbonation this would be a 4. wacho (51), Izegem, Belgium May 19, 2008 Geproeft in Kroegske Emelgem . Een fruitg aroma met een zoete vanilleachtige basissmaak waarbij een toetsje sprankelende zurigheid aanvoelt. Een zeer diepe smaak die van dit bier een der beste van zijn soort maakt.
