Commercial Description:
Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Bottle 2005 at Shakespeare pub,höllviken sweden. Brown with a creamy brown head. Nose is kind of sour. The taste is a bit vinious and fruity with plenty of acidity,a great beer!

bottle that says 1986 on bottle cap....lost almost all carbonation....and sourness...very sherrylike and not washed out...but not very much going on complexity....everyone around me loves it...what do I know?

bottle. pours a deep dark red/burgundy with a huge light tan head that lasts and leaves significant lacing. rather acetic balsamic smell with some wood and cherry notes, and with a spiciness that’s spicy in the same way mustard is spicy, but it doesn’t actually smell like mustard. if that makes sense. oaky, sweet taste, with a sort of candied cherry malt flavor taking center stage. the vinegar seems to have faded into the background a bit. a light sweet finish with a long dry sourness that while it doesn’t pucker you, does stick around for a while. the mouthfeel is close to watery, but it has a velvety smoothness to it that kind of saves it. light body, and somewhat low carbonation. decent.

Pours brown (much darker than I was expecting) with quite a bit of sediment. A small white head that quickly faded to the sides to leave some nice lacing. Apples and grapes on the nose with a little bretty tartness. On the tongue a slight tartness on top of sweet caramel malts, alcohol (didn’t expect that), a touch of acetic. A nice drying finish. I though that I would like this more, so a little disappointed, but still a very good beer.

Bottle-Memphis. Nose was a stronger version of Trois Pistol: plum and cherries. Poured a murky brown with suspended yeast. I remarked: "This tastes like cherry soda with a bit of 2-row." Tasted great!

A perfect, mellow brown and gold color with no head. Wonderful aromas of red wine and whiskey -- lavender, roses, vanilla and yeast. Plenty of sour cherry and tart green apple up front, with a long-lasting sweet caramel, raisin and melon finish. Compared to others, this is a sweet sour ale, but it has depth and complexity. Very refreshing.

2006 from a bottle--Poured a brown-amber body with a small white head. Funky, slightly oxidized nose. Lots of sugary caramel notes. Crisp, thick, and earthy with undeniable tartness. Slightly grapelike and mildly chocolaty. Pretty scrumptious brew.

Bottle - Cork: Poured a deep dark black/brown with a purple tone in the light, the head is creamy light brown. The aroma is sour sugary malt, i was expecting more of a sourness but if so it is very well hidden in the nose. Taste is tart wood and fruit with a nice sour malt finish. I’m not a big sour fan, but this one staps me around.
