j12601 (1153), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Aug 31, 2009 Bottle at the Where the Wild Beers are event. Clear brown, thin white head. Caramel and prune. Sweet! Cloying in fact. Lots of caramel, nearly rotten plum and prune. Finishes sweet and lingering, with a lot of cough syrup on it. tomer (365), Rishon Le Zion, Israel Aug 26, 2009 At a tasting, many thanks Shahar, murky light brown with reddish taints, aroma of moss like a very old wine cellar, with notes of apples. wood, and maple. Strong and dominant sourness balanced perfectly by a dried fruits sweetness.
very long sour aftertaste which mellows in time. Excellent brew. zvikar (414), Tel-Aviv, Israel Aug 24, 2009 Thanks Shachar for sharing this one, hazy deep bronze with a nice tan head, aroma of barnyard, humid air, kinky aroma balanced with nice flowers and vinous tones, flavor is complex, soil, dampness, dry fruits, grapes, zesty on the tongue with some nice acids and gentle bitter finish. Great stuff JesseM (661), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Aug 23, 2009 750mL bottle (I think that was the size) at our KW group tasting, thanks to Jan Primus! 2006 vintage. It poured a murky burgundy with a lot of yeasty floaties. The aroma is nice and complex, berries, chocolate, sour cherry, soy, vanilla, yeast, all in one massive clusterf*** in the nose. Flavour has all the same elements but with a hugely astringent finish to balance it out, which is a major benefit. Sour cherry features most prominently, with the yeast. Alcohol is not at all noticable. I like clumps of stuff in beer sometimes and this one satisfies that want. Very nice beer and super refined after all the aging. Parket (219), Bruges, Belgium Aug 17, 2009 bottle, dark reddish/brown colour, fruity smell. Taste: a mix between sour, sweet and fruity. Nice balanced beer, a bit like a rodenbach. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Aug 16, 2009 Bottle sample at Noogfest High 5. Poured brown with no head. Aromas of tart fruits and cellar mustiness. The flavor sweet fruit and wood. Medium body. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 9, 2009 Light hazed brown pour with off white head and lace. Aroma of brown sugar and easy hops. Sour and medium light brown sugar flavor. Medium bodied and refreshing pretty nice. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Jul 29, 2009 Pour hazy chestnut brown with off-white head. Aroma of prunes, cellar, wild fermenting and cookies. Ditto flavour. Very tasty IMO. Nice balance between the sourness and the more sweet malt flavours. Great beer!
