COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Robe rouge, mousse quasi absente.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2015 Pours brown with no head. Nice balsamico aroma. Light sour, moderately sweet taste with clear oaky tones, balsamico vinegar, honey and some nice dark forest fruits. Some hints of raisins as well, especially in the aftertaste, which gives a nice mildly sweet, bit bready kick in its mildly dry and woody finish. Pretty drinkable as well. Medium bodied, and the mouthfeel is not too thin. Very well brewed sour brown.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 17C, adapted). Bottle 75 cl - Batch 08 01S34. AROMA: nice and complex aromas of cherries, some figs, sweet malty toffee, woody and barrel like notes. All mixed with a sherry like aroma with slight acidic notes. no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: dark red-brown color and clear. thin head with low retention. TASTE: mild cherry and some raisins flavours combined with a soft caramel-like malty note. some sherry-like notes with a woody component are present, mixed with a slight acidic taste, rendering a sweet-and-sour overall. low bitterness with a semi-dry, almost tartaric and barrel-like finish. PALATE: low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: an interesting and complex aged Belgian Brown ale that lacks a bit more body.

*Old rating from 2008, bottle best before end 2014. Säuerlich-fruchtiges Bier. Angenehm milde Holztöne, für die 8% sehr süffig. Intensiv-dickflüssig, sehr viel fruchtige Säure, tolles Bier.

Sample tasted at Casanova Liquors. Pours clear dark reddish with almost no head. Smell is sour fruits like grapes. Taste similar with some tart and dry finish. Nor bad.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2015 Pours dark with reddish reflections and nice sticky, beige and long-lasting head. Aroma is dual - scent of old humid cellar but balanced with fruity freshness, grapes and raspberries. Taste is malty sweet and goes into tartness finish, a bit sour and dry. Malts make it smooth but the carbonation could be a bit boosted up. Overall, refreshing, wholesome and of high drinkability. Enjoyable drink.

9300th rating, and it’s a classic! 375mL bottle, 2007 vintage. Pours a clear dark red with no head and large particles. Aroma of mildly tart grapes, caramel and a bit of cork. The taste is grapes, citrus, cranberries, caramel, hints of oxidation. Medium bodied, mild lingering tartness and some yeast follows. Has help up well over the last 6.5 years. Solid beer.

Super dark almost black pour from draft at rocking horse. Sticky off white head. Cherry front and back for taste. Super smooth, not sour, like a sweet fruit juice. Very easy to drink. Good

Copper-brown colour with light ruby red reflections, fine light tan fading head with good lacings. Aromas of unripe plums, cherries, wood, earthyness and light notes of balsamico vinegar and malts develop. Soft rescence/effervescence with a light texture and medium body. Sweet flavours at first developping a fine acidity and tartness. Medium lasting finish. Complex and harmonic!
