Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Bottle from Systembolaget, BBF 2022. Pours cola brown with a very quickly disappearing fizzy, beige head. Aroma is slightly tart with wood, leather, dark red berries and dried fruit. Tart and oaky flavor, with malt, yeast, red berries and bubblegum. Lacks complexity.

Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, berries and red fruit.

Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Medium sweet and slightly dry and sour with malts, caramel, berries and red fruit.

This beer is intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Too malty and sweet, could have benefitted from more complexity. Like the addition of some real berries and red fruit, or a red wine barrel-aging.

Pours dark brown, with minimum off-white top, which quickly diminishes. Aroma of strong scotch-oak like notes, some sour and coffee finish. Strong sour, acrid taste. I dislike it. May be a faulty batch?!?

Bottle from hopfen und Malz in Berlin. After trying the cuvee yesterday and really enjoying it, I had to try this. Pours deep Red. Heavy carbonation. Smells of cherry, Apple and grapes. Tastes more sour than the cuvee, but still fruity and a bit sweet. Great beer, but i like the cuvee more.

Rami Rami is drinking a Goudenband (2015) by Brouwerij Liefmans at Powiśle Owocowo-winne, wisniowe, kwasne ale i slodkawe, nawet jakis karmel czy cola sie przewija, drewno, lekkie, niezobowiazujace. Pozytywne zasko!

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Good looking with its bubbly, beige head resting over a deep rosewood coloured body. Clingy lacing. Berry fruit aromas joined by elements of caramel and cheese, dry. Berry fruit tartness to the taste profile backed by yeast and dried fruits, caramel malts beneath. Lingering tart and sweet ending. Well bodied. Gets rather sweet in the long run, still a very solid brew (Tromsø 20.08.2016).

This is one of my favourite beers. It has a very rich taste. Wood, apple, cherries. I highly recommend it.

15cl at a beer tasting. Appearance: dark red-brown with medium head. Aroma: raisins, green apple, cinnamon, quite vinous. Taste: quite high sweetness and low bitterness. Nice tartness, white grapes and raisins. Palate: medium bodied, sticky texture and medium carbonation
