chef201atc (249), Weatherford, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2007 Poured from a 2006, 375ml bottle – cork removed with a loud “pop”. Cloudy dark brown pour, medium sized frothy tan head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, and earthy with a bit of mild lemony citrus. Light, crisp palate with fizzy feeling carbonation. Flavor starts slightly malty and the sour lemon-like flavor kicks in. Reminds me of a sweet-tart, nice! BuckeyeBoy (1639), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 5, 2007 750ml 2004 Bottle Pouts out a murky brown topped with a little baby ring of a head. A great fruit aroma of sweet apples and spice. Tast is pretty good a little sweet and spice. Not bad but not great. thanks indiana red. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 5, 2007 Bottle Caged and corked 750ml pours a murky light brown. Small skin of a "head" with spotty lacing. Nice sweet and sour aroma of over ripe pears apples and raisons. Apple butter. Flavor is a rather dissapointing sour apple a bit metallic. Thin fizzy and lacking is character. Tastes like it used to be something special. I love this style but this is a bit of a let down.
Give me "The Duchesse" any day.

Malty aroma, for some reason it smells like a dopplebock? Rich malts, molasses, very sweet smelling. Pours dark brown with reddish sides, no head, besides the pop of the cork there’s no detectable carbonation. Sour cherries, spicy, big malt flavor, sour apples with molasses. There is no carbonation, not that’s a bad thing. But this isn’t my favorite flemish sour.

Sweet caramelly nose with hints of funk and raspberry. Pours a rich amber brown with no head. Smooth sourness with a hefty maltiness, rich caramel and hints of tart berries, somewhat sweet but just enough tartness to balance it out. Very good! joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA Sep 5, 2007 Pours a very nice deep dark burnt brownish with a nice tan head. Very nice apple, brown sugar, sweet malt, ripe fruits, and tart cherry on the nose. Very nice sweet ripe cherry upfront as well as some tart apple. There is also a nice balance of sweet brown sugar and and an odd spicy character I can’t place. Very nice long lasting lingering finish of earthy apple and tart cherry. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 02/23/2005

hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Aug 27, 2007 Corked and caged bottle. Tan medium sized fizzy head that was mostly lasting with a lot of floaties, virtually no lacing, visible carbonation, and a brown hue. Sweet, fruity, alcohol, sour, tart, and some maltiness for the aroma. Flavor was sweet, sour, somewhat tart, fruity, and somewhat vinuous. Dry finish. Tingly, dry mouthfeel. Medium body. Just too sweet and sour tasting for my liking. A complex brew IMO. Decent for the style though. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile Aug 27, 2007 Appearance: mahogany color with reddish tones, beautiful. Medium head, beige color, medium persistency.
Aroma: very sour-fruity of plums, berries, pears, green apples and green grape; sweet-fruity of figs. Liquory like champagne. Lactic sourness, like natural yogurt. Spicy tones, like tea, clove, damp wood and mustard.
Flavor: highly acid like natural yogurt; sour-fruity of lemon, orange, pears, plums, green apples and chardonnay grapes. Liquory, similar to chardonnay wine and champagne. Intensive acid start; very sweet finish without hoppy; tobacco, wood, clove, metallic and cork aftertaste. The sourness and sweetness hide the alcoholic degree.
Palate: medium body, oily texture. Medium carbonation.
Relatively complex, underline the Rodenbach.
