| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2007 25 oz bottle, Well’s Discount Liquors. Pours a reddish mahogany colored body, clear on first pour, with a dense light brown head one inch in height. Lots of carbonation maintains the head for the duration. The aroma is of dense fruitiness, lots of raisin, plum, cherry skins, light yeast, and in general quite vinous. The flavor is just slightly tart, yet still fairly sweet as well. Lots of tart cherry skins, cherry pits, plum, light yeast, and a touch of vinegar on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied and quite creamy in texture with perfect soft light carbonation. A nice crisp tartness on the finish. This was a great Oud Bruin. Exactly what I picture in my mind for a Belgian Oud Bruin. I had no problem finishing a 750 of this by myself, whereas the Kriek and Frambozen were a little hard to finish. robinvboyer (1424), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

Flavour is very much like wine with a tartness to it. Very interesting, this is somehwat sweet also, butt he sour/tart never really goes away. Very much like wine, i’m intrested to see how thos holds up after some cellaring. yespr (11906), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Bottle at home. Dark brown colour with tan head. Very sour nose. Dense texture of tastes, certainly. Various fruit flavours. Gets bitter and very sour towards the end. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2007 Pours a roasted brown. Small tan head with some decent lacing. Initial nose was strong vegetal, like cooked squash and light cherries. The more smelled the more I decided on tomato soup. I agree with my bud KAggie that the taste just jumps at you compared to the nose. Brown sugar syrup mixed with lightly cooked cherries is dead on. I do have this strange sugary film left on my tongue that I’m not used to, but it makes me act like when my dog eats peanut butter...so cool by me. Full bodied and damn tasty. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 31, 2007 Bottle. Pours solid-brown and mahongany with bits of cherry-colored yeast freely floating amongst the libation. Weak pumpkin and strawberry greet the olfactory almost immediately-- a sign of things to come, perhaps? Flavor is an almost 180 degree turn, lending notes of cedar-soaked cherry and hints of brown sugar. Hints of cider in the finish leave a tingly film on the tongue. Nice and full mouthfeel that leaves a thick coating of flavor on the palate. Great beer; unusually sweet, but very balanced. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2007 Tasted 9/11/06 at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. An old school favorite, did you know it cures anthrax? Well that’s the rumor anyway. Murky brown in color with that wonderful sweet sour aroma. Either it’s gotten sweeter since I last had it or my taste buds have gone south like paris hilton’s respectability. Still a very good beer, just didn’t wow me like it used to.
