BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2005 Wigan hosting Arsenal. What a great game...if you’re an Arsenal fan..well Wigan too, they hold out ok. Figured i’d sip this for 90+ minutes. Good smooth and mild choice for such a game. Nice amber brown/purple pour...careful now..lots of sedi sitting at the bottom. Sweet and Sour nose with a little tingle. Taste is a mild sweet sour cherry and vinegar in a smooth oak finish, but nothing really outstanding. Fine with me.:) joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 15, 2005 Bottled.
Cloudy orange brown coloured with a yellow head.
Light acidic aroma with notes of caramel, fruits and wood.
Light acidic flavour with notes of fruits and wood.
Dry woody finish.
Good flemish sour ale. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Nov 14, 2005 Pours oily murky brown/dark red to liht. No head. Huge amounts of sediment. Aroma is very sour vinegar, woodsy, dark sour cherries. Flavor is all sour cherry and vinegar with some wood notes in the finish. Very nice brew. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA Nov 13, 2005 Pours dark brown with a large tan head. Very fruity aroma, like a Wild Cherry Capri Sun with added green apple and grapes. Also fresh bread and a hint of alcohol. Flavor of dark fruits, cherries, cola, wood, earth. The finish is light sour grapes and coppery blood (or bloody copper). Not as good as the Duchesse de Bourgogne, but I like it.
presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 11, 2005 2003 bottle with Poperinge. Borwon. No head. Small floaties. Alcohol aroma with background sourness. Flavour is more sweetness than sour with some woody notes. Interesting lemon and cherry flavour. Tasty and introspective. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2005 Dark amber and slightly opaque in appearance, this beer has aromas of: sour cherries, fresh bread/yeast grapes and sour apple. In the mouth, it’s moderately sweet and aromas of oxidized copper and roses become apparent. The palate is very creamy and alluring with a long-lasting sweet finish.Yummy! shakespiers (8), England does not count Nov 6, 2005 Another beer ruined by a takeover. All you get is a horrible sickly sweetness now instead of complexity of an old style brown ale. A crying shame. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Nov 4, 2005 Mmmm, I love beer that has floaties all over the place. This thing was like a fucking aquarium. Awesome. So weird, I know. The beer in general was not very sour at all, which was dissappointing, but still exhibited nice fruitiness and balance.
