3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a deep, opaque brown with almost no head and some light bubbles rising. Not much special there. Aroma is interesting... slightly funky, sour dark fruits, followed by nice grapefruit twist at the end. First taste is brash like a watered down sour cider vinegar. Once my tongue adjusted, the vinegary taste mellows to a rich sour, lightly salted, with a little sweetness. Mouthfeel is light, no carbonation present at all, finish comes through bitter and puckering. Overall, a pretty nice beer and I donít usually like sours. The Brown hiding behind this sour is really present though. Itís a nice mix.

Doskonale Brown Ale. Jak wspaniale starzone i wytrawne wino czerwone. To piwo jest taninowe winne i lekko cierpkie. Wspanialy zapach wisni i winogron. Prawie piany nie ma ale nie ma co sie czepiac bo bardzo stary egzemplaz kosztowale, Osad osiadly na dnie bez mozliwosci go wybeltania. Smak cudownie wytrawny. Uwielbiam wina wytrawne a to bylo naprawde bardzo zblizone. Zero slodkosci i sto procent wytrawnosci nut kwaskowych i ta tanicznosc. Niesamowite. Zawiniete w bibulke, ale te starsza i dobrej jakosci korek szampasnski z grzybkiem.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2010 vintage. Poured dark brown, no head, very low carbonation. Aroma is plum, red fruits, slightly sour. Taste is slightly sour cider up front, cherry, plum, sourness fades quickly and dry finish comes through. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle into a pint glass. 2010 vintage.
A: Pours a murky dark brown color. Thereís about one finger of off-white colored head; itís nicely thick, but retains poorly. No lacing is left behind, as expected.
S: The tartness is what I notice first - but the fruitiness is what hooks me. A quick hit of (pleasant) vinegar quickly turns into a melange of cherry, plum, and figgy notes. Sugary, too. As someone whoís preference is sourness to the exclusion of everything else, I can safely say this balance is pretty intoxicating.
T: Some moderate tartness hits first, and even that has a sweetish bend. It quickly fades in the midtaste, and the finish is pretty much all fruit sweetness. Iím picking up cherries, raisins, and even a touch of chocolate on the aforementioned finish. Having said that, Iím still let down by its lack of tartness - especially considering itís three years old, more or less. Youíd think the age of this would make it a little more complex. Actually, the only thing that really lets me down is the sugary character doesnít seem entirely natural to me. Double actually, it tastes like aspartame. Triple actually, itís ridiculously cloying. Still a good brew, just one that could stand to be a bit less cloying (just a bit, though!)
M: The finishing tannins canít get in the way of all the fruity sweetness that finish this brew. It doesnít have the moronic drinkability of Rodenbach Grand Cru, but to be fair, what does? Carbonation starts off strongly but quickly restrains itself.
O: My personal preference dictates Iíd like a little more sourness and a little less sweetness - and a lot less aspartame. Thatís exactly whatís keeping this very good offering from being an excellent one. Put it like this: due to the cloying nature, Iím questioning whether or not I should pawn the rest of the 750 off to someone else. Keep in mind I could drink a couple 750s of Rodenbach Grand Cru and still wish for more.

Big fan of this one. Pours a murky brown with a beige-tinted fizzy cap. The funkiness comes across in the aroma; not overpowering, but, enough to know itís coming. The sourness is mild, but in great balance with the malts going on here. The body is perfect for the style and just the right amount of carbonation. Superb.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma Lightly roasted malt, vanilla, apple, caramel, bright lemon, mild wood
Appearance: hazy, cider brown, decent lacing. One centimeter of head that quickly disperses.
Taste: vanilla, cider, strawberry, lime, woody dry and juicey. This beer is complex to have stages of varying dryness to juiceyness throughout the finish.
Palate: Thin and fruity that dries on the finish (some fruitiness does stick around for a wonderful finish.)
Very nice beer, meets the style well. Very well balanced and most importantly complex enough that it takes more than one sitting to really get to know. Thank you LCBO for releasing this. I am so found of sours but often access to quality sours is difficult.
I gave it a 8 over all but itís a 95 to 100 for the style in my opinion. To determine those extra five points I would need to have this wonderful sour with another respected of the style to truly know.

A beautiful beer. Very much to style and a wonderful intro for new Sour beer drinkers. Colour is a deep rusted ruby, full nose and bright white head with medium-large bubbles. Tart yet with balanced sweetness in the taste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It pours deep ruby with slight purplish tints; the head is off-white and foamy. The aroma has notes of: berry-marmalade, toffee, lemon-juice, and a slight barnyard funk. The taste is medium sour with a slight sweetness; there are notes of: all the aforementioned aroma notes, plus a very vinous characteristic, and slight woodiness. The palate is medium bodied, has medium carbonation, is slightly sticky, and has a medium finish. Overall, much drier than Iíd assume it to be - and not that complex, pleasant though.
