COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Bottle. Frothy beige head, dark milk chocolate pour. Nose is cola, hazelnut, sour cherry. Palate is bursting with tangy wild yeast, just a touch of bitter orange rind and a clean quick finish.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 375 ml bottle, 2014 printed on cork, from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Very dark copper, brownish body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of sweet barrel notes, sour cherries, sweet-sour berries, overripe fruits, wine, some leather.
Tastes of fresh, sour fruits, barrel, wine, ripe and dried fruits, smooth malts, some bread, leather.
Full, creamy, velvety mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smooth, sour, quite dry, a bit salty, a bit sweet, fruity and with barrel notes.

Tasty. Classic example of a Flemish sour beer, greatly balanced and very smooth. Alcohol is completely hidden, drinks very nice. Overall not the best beer of this style I’ve had, a bit less sour than I prefer, but very comfortable nonetheless.

Color is a reddish-brown, with a beige head. Overwhelming aroma. Typical smell of a flemish brown beer but much intenser. Notes of red fruit and some maltiness in the background. Taste is a combination of sour and vinous details. The alcohol is present in the taste, but gives it an extra dimension. My favorite brown beer (so far).

Bottle at Mas Plenum stand at Vinocom, Zagreb. Pours dark brown with brownish head. Sourish fruity aroma. Fruit, berries, malt, not too sweet, pleasantly sour. Quite a good one and a pleasant surprise.

Dyp brun uklar med lavt beige skum. Lukter sure bær, eik og vanilje. Sur, noe syrlig smak av bær, noe trevirke. Sur medium lang avslutning.

Small corked and wrapped bottle with a printed impression of someone’s autograph and all. Dark red/brown body. Aroma has simple tart cherries and some oxidised sweet malt mixed with hints of alcohol. Basic cherry/oxidised malt taste. What complexity? This is a very basic sour beer. I don’t know or care to know how good this beer was in the past, currently it rates "meh". Ratebeer seems to have an unhealthy fascination with anything related to sour. I wonder whether the highest rated potao chips on Ratebeer would have vinegar or sour cream in taste...

Dark brown. Minimal head. Aroma is intense and reminds of wine: loads of fruit (depending on the age of the beer there is variation: younger beers smell of strawberry and cherry; older ones of prunes, dates, figs and raisins); liquorice, chocolate, molasses, caramel, even Maggi and Lea&Perrins sauces. Sheer sourness, light body, no bitterness. Not for everyone; nevertheless it will please those who are capable to understand it. It’s a great beer.
