Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Bottle. Frothy beige head, dark milk chocolate pour. Nose is cola, hazelnut, sour cherry. Palate is bursting with tangy wild yeast, just a touch of bitter orange rind and a clean quick finish.

Aromas of tart cherry, plum. Dark brown, almost black, minimal white head. Fruity, tart. Light bodied.

Nose: sour cherries and wet wood. Defiantly some funk. Appearance: dark brown with khaki color head a lot of lacing but the head dissipates quickly leaving an oily surface. Taste: a good brown ale with sour notes. Cherry and a cola sweetness come through. Mouth feel: nice long finish with carbonation highlighted by the sour finish. A little thin in the mid palate Overall: I like this it has the complexity to think did I miss that flavor on the last sip. It changes as you drink it 2012 750ml bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown collor with a thin beige head. Taste is cherry, yeasty, oak and a little sour. Aftertaste is sweet fruit, with bright carbonation. Nice packaging, good beer.

37,5cl bottle from 2005 - batch from before the 2007 bankrupcy of Liefmans. Pours a dark red with smooth head. And the smoothness continues.. Soft cherry aroma and mild taste. Honey, barn yard, aged malt, cherry (!), framboise. Full bodied 'provision' beer!

Aroma - heavy on the cherry, light on the oak. Taste is complex; dark cherry followed by a nice oakiness and finishing with a lingering and developing tartness. Not too sour though - just enough to make it refreshing.

Medium body lots of creamy notes, oak and cherry tartness help balance, nice aroma of cherry.

Mooie verpakking, maar spijtig genoeg een typische oud bruin waar ik geen fan van ben
