COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Yeasty acidic nose with prunish sherry tagging along. This impression is only strengthened after sampling: definitely a sherry-beer, or perhaps even more reminiscent of the Chinese Shao-Hsing (Shaoxing) wine known from many lesser Chinese establishments. Not bad, but quite odd.

Deep dark brown with reddish hue. Light tan head. Aroma is sweet and sour cherry and apple. Clear taste rollows nose. Taste is a little stronger than aroma.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, dark, reddy brown. Film and halo of tan head. Sour cherry. Kirsch. Brown bread, grainy maltiness. Light bonfire toffee. Some dried vinous fruit in there, too. Taste is light sour. Boozy sweetness. An apple core dryness and bitterness, gives balance. Palate is smooth. Finish is dry and tart, with a little lingering, fruity sweetness.

Tap: brown color with some red hues. Light brown frothy head that sticks around the edge for quite a while with some spotty lacing. Sweet tart apple aroma with a smooth feel and acidic vinegar flavor finish. This vinegar is mainly in the aftertaste. Other flavors I noticed were rubber, tart raspberry, with some flat cola. Overall, pretty awesome.

Draft - Sour cherry, balsamic and some light oak. Dirty brown with a rich beige head. Tart sweet cherry, nice long finish. Not bad, hits all the right notes.

Pours out of the bottle in a hazy deep brown colour with steady head and medium body. Aroma of acid, basement and nuts. Taste of sour berries, vinegar, nuts, spruce and spices. Leavy and malty finish with a big acid-sour ending. Nice one.

Finally unwrapped the bottle picked up at my local LCBO a few weeks ago. Pours a dark cola, and delivers a thin sheet of dense off white head, with lacing. Smells of sweet cherries and sour grapes. Nice contrast. The taste is not dissimilar. Lots of fruity sweetness and sour. Cherries and grapes. The malts take a back seat here, to the point where the beer taste a little, uh...thin, but overall a good beer.
