2006 from a bottle--Poured a brown-amber body with a small white head. Funky, slightly oxidized nose. Lots of sugary caramel notes. Crisp, thick, and earthy with undeniable tartness. Slightly grapelike and mildly chocolaty. Pretty scrumptious brew.

2003 bottle: Poured slightly hazy amber-brown with a nice light brown head. OK retention and nice lacing. Very interesting aroma. I'm getting a suprising amount of cherry, citrus and vanilla. Theres some fruity (dark fruit) malt aroma there too, and a yeasty stench as well. Smooth medium mouthfeel. Flavour wasnt as complex as aroma. Starts with sweet subdued malts, finish is mildly sour and acidic. Slightly spicy hop like aftertaste. Nice stuff.

2001 edition: darkish petrified amber with a maroonish gleam..thin layer of lacing..tart sour aroma of cherries and barns..real sour intro with champagne memories..sour turning to chocolate plastic..alcohol completely hidden, yet still warming..subtle chocolate acid in the background..dry grape skins..lambicy finish..extremely sour

Murky brown with a thin but persistent head. Nice smell of cherries, caramel. Medium body and lightly carbed. A mostly sweet flavor is of pit fruits with a tart earthy dryness to balance.

Smells sweetish, metallic, and almost wine-like. Pours a chocolately brown with LOTS of suspended yeast/proteins all throughout and a short lived off white head. Incredibly unappealing look from the excessive yeast/protein particles hanging out like mini shreds of wet toilet paper floating stationary like gel capsules. Taste is smooth, overly sweet, a touch alcoholic, and some nice sourness. Honestly tastes like a mix of brown ale and a cheap reisling wine. If you want your beer this sweet, you should just drink dessert wines, or champagne. The sourness is interesting but the sweetness level is not something I want in my beer, and although I’m sure tons of people appreciate this style, I found at least this one cloying and left the last half for the sink.

Light hazed brown pour with off white head and lace. Aroma of brown sugar and easy hops. Sour and medium light brown sugar flavor. Medium bodied and refreshing pretty nice.

courtesy of Retorp, ’04 bottle. Pours copper with beige head. Taste is malty with light hops and some very good addition of fruits, dark cherries. God dose of yeast. Amazing balance with the sour and tartness being excellent, almost velvety.
