2005 12 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Reddish brown with ring and some lace and a few floaters. Funky oaky corky port wine and brown sugar aroma. Toasty oaky brown sugar spice port wine tobacco funky flavor with somewhat acidic finish. Medium body and medium carbo. Infinitely complex is right. This has a lot going on. Very enjoyable, refreshing and satisfying.

$7.99 bottle from Greens Buford Hwy. 3 flemish browns in a row, and this is the best of them. Lots of maltiness, sweet, but seems drier than the other two. Dark brown amber color. Some buttery oaky barrel in the aroma. Apple cider is lower (which is good) than the other two. Nicely drinkable and refreshing. Chunks of yeast floating around. 8,3,8,3, 17: 3.9

3/7/08 - On Draft at Ginger Man in Dallas. Pours brown with amber hues, foamy, thick beige head topping it. Nose is sour, slight smoke, fruit. Great sour fruit taste, apple pear and plum, some hints of vinegar, but balanced well with the maltiness. Very good.

I liked to sneak sips of cherry dimatapp as a child, you bring me back... of course, you’re better, subdued cherry malt funk, and you the eight real nice like ... i like you.

bottle. pours a deep dark red/burgundy with a huge light tan head that lasts and leaves significant lacing. rather acetic balsamic smell with some wood and cherry notes, and with a spiciness that’s spicy in the same way mustard is spicy, but it doesn’t actually smell like mustard. if that makes sense. oaky, sweet taste, with a sort of candied cherry malt flavor taking center stage. the vinegar seems to have faded into the background a bit. a light sweet finish with a long dry sourness that while it doesn’t pucker you, does stick around for a while. the mouthfeel is close to watery, but it has a velvety smoothness to it that kind of saves it. light body, and somewhat low carbonation. decent.

Bottle 37,5 cl wrapped in paper, doesn’t state the year it was brewed. Pour a warm ruby red with a small off-white head and an acidic aroma. The flavour is sweet at first, with notes of toffee, artificial sweetener, prunes, salmiac and cherries. After this initial taste the taste gets sour, acidic, wine that has been open for too long and cider. Nice sour beer.

Bottle. Pours very dark copper with a little tan head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is a little sour with notes of blackberries, blackcurrant, toffee, and sour cherry. Flavour is also quite sour (no great surprise) and vinous with a lot similarity to the aroma but with added hints of caramel, oak and raspberry. Nice mix of sweet and sour overall which has a generous body and a fairly astringent finish. The first beer I have tried in this style and I will be seeking out more.
