Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

There is so much going on here that I feel my palate is not developed enough to give an accurate assessment. A beautiful sweet malty nose. This is a sour ale. You can taste it clearly. If you are someone who thinks you would not like it, take it from someone who thought he would not like it when I say you are wrong. There is a perfect harmony between the malty and the sour. You will not be disappointed.

2011 I think. Pours a dark mahogany brown with minimal head. Nose is grapes, red wine, balsamic vinegar, something malty. Taste is sour cherries, cherry cough syrupy, rotten wood, funk, vinegar, very assertively tart, dry kinda nasty aftertaste. I can't drink this. I'm no stranger to sours but it's so assertive and NyQuil-ish I just can't do it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour on tap at Tap n Handle, 2012 pour, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, hints of sour lemon, vinegar, slight grassy notes into a bit of oak, earthy notes, a bit off. Taste had a bit of grass, earth, some lemon, vinegar, oak into some caramel, toffee, finishing slightly sour, bitter.

En rätt lugn wild Ale. Balans i smaken och relativt fyllig i kroppen. Del syrlighet i smaken

I ha this at Flying Saucer. Pours deep dark reddish brown with a off white head. Taste tart, fruity, sweet. I thought this was pretty good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a very unusual and exciting beer. 750 ml. bottle, 2010 vintage on the cork. Pours ruby red/brown with a small tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of sour cherries with some slight vinegar, earth, and basement funk. Flavor is lightly sweet, mostly tart and sour but it has a good balance. It is very refreshing and drinkable, the 8% abv is well hidden. Has a soft mouthfeel, thirst quenching and delightful.

Not much on the nose, nice deep ruby wooden color. First sip a little off but the palate adjusts. A good amount of mild sourness when it touches the tongue with a deep sugary fruit sweetness that almost balances it, but it’s that sourness that is refreshing and mildly lingers afterwards, Making you want to take another sip to get that sweet counterbalance

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours reddish dark brown with a rather small bubbly beige head that doesn’t leave much trace in the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and vinous with dark bread, dark grapes, red wine vinegar, moist wood, brown sugar, acetic acid, black cherries, moist soil and hay. Taste is sour and vinous with dark bread, red wine vinegar, minerals, moist wood, dark grape juice, ripe plums, moist soil, black cherries, raspberries, hay, lemon juice, orange zest and hints of acetic acid and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is round, dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour as vinous with dark bread, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, moist wood, dark grapes, ripe plums, black cherries, raspberry balsamic vinegar, hay and minerals. Tasty, and dangerously drinkable...

I didn’t read the description, so I didn’t know what to expect. The others at my table thought it had gone bad, but it turned out to be a sour! Not as refreshing as some of the other belgian Sours I’ve had. The malty note is nice but a bit out of place. Smell + appearance is bad. Decent but not special.
