3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured a medium brown with some reddish undertones and a large almost cream colored rocky head that was mostly lasting and produced some fair lacing. The aroma was quite complex with a nutty dark grain malt, an herbal hop and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of cherries, apple, sweet dried fruit and a mild alcohol wine scent. It tasted sweet, malty and fruity with hints of cherries and dried dark fruit in the beginning then became very tart with a nice apple vinegar flavor at the finish. Mouthfeel was somewhere between light and medium in body with the texture being watery at first and finishing quite dry. The carbonation was lively and a little bubbly. Overall an appealing sweet-sour flavor mixed with an abundance of fruitiness which hid the somewhat high alcohol content.

Bottle (1P 9.4 FL OZ): Vintage 2010 Clear, deep brown, dense white head. Sour, red fruit, citrus, pomegranate, cherry, chocolate caramel. So fresh and clean for the style. Layers of flavor. Dry, sour, not bitter. Rich. Fresh but sweet fruit. Wine like. Long, elegant. Extremely clean for style. Citrus, coffee, sour red cherry. Balanced. Deceiving alcohol. Much fresher than 8%.
Truly wonderful. All class. Another great example of a sour that’s clean.

750ml bottle @ Pikkulintu
2007 vintage? - Pours dark brown with no head. Aroma of grains, tartish berries and malts. Taste is grainy, earthy and malty with hints of tart berries and sourness. Finish is smooth, grainy and earthy with mild sourness and lactic notes. A bit unbalanced.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
1996 vintage bottle. This sour lambic style is really not my favorite. I enjoy some cherry lambics but this vaguely sweet tart lambic style just isn’t my thing. That being said, you get something all together different with this one. Initially quite sour, it becomes sweeter with time, like brown sugar or candy. Not much head, although not flat at all. Some dark sediment. Enjoyable.

shared at the end of tour at Ommegang brewery in Cooperstown, really good sour bit but not too overpowering. Very deep rich taste with an awesome finish. For a guy who doesn’t like sours this one is super tasty.

ans le style de la Rodenbach GC (oud bruin parfois classée dans les "Sour Ale" également), très aigre, plus puissante que la précédente, encore plus fruitée (prunes cuites, cerises aigres). A peine plus de longueur.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This was fantastic. Big yeast, sugar and fruit in the nose, but tasted sour and a bit maltish in the taste. Long mouth feel with big flavor.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice dark brown with cherry hues and some surface etches. Smells of cough syrup, cherries, some oak, some alcohol, some peppercorn, some grain. Flavor is sweet, balsamic, cherry, oak, sweet syrupy, some acetic character, like old school black sweet and sour with more complexity and nuances. Medium bodied with moderate on hi carb and an off dry finish. Decent example of the style, a little on the sweet side, but nice spiced character.

Robe brun rouge, assez sombre. Une belle acidité, des notes de fruits rouges, de vin rouges, de malt grillés sans être trop sucrée. Une belle complexité des parfums, qui donne une ensemble très agréable sans être trop lourd.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a VERY dark brown with a decent tan head. Aroma is leathery and over ripe fruit, different from what i expected. Taste dark fruits, rich berry notes, leathery, slight tartness to it. Good brew.
