Golden brown. White head that quickly dissipates without a trace. Aroma of yeast. Tastes isyeast and white bread. Like a pale lager with Belgian yeast.

I didn’t like this one. Ugly brown colour with large yeast chunks. Smells sweet and wort. Tastes sweet, very dull and a bit watery. Hardly any body, hardly any carbo.

Bottle @ home shared with DutchDrebus. Most disgusting looking beer I’ve ever seen. Brown shit color with an incredible amount of ’things’ floating in it. No head at all. Smell sweet and wort. Bad taste. Watery texture.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ALLOVATE (1535) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 4, 2011
Tasting from Dec’ 2008. Love the paper-wrapped, corked wine bottles of this brewery. Gives just a little intrigue to what’s inside. Sadly this doesn’t half measure up to their other great brews. pours a hazy, floaty riddled, deep ruddy copper, fine beading raising up to a nice, thick, creamy off-white head that holds well leaving a trail of webbed froth behind in its wake. Dowdy, yeasty, sourdough nose with some soft fudge and buttery diacetyl, blood oranges and apricot, not too enticing. Big, biscuity, caramel and toasted white bread flavours in the mouth. Very mild peppery note does little to balance. Alcohol noticeable in the swallow (?) with fairy floss and vanilla licked sweet malts lingering. Body is not overly big, it’s just too sweet to be light bodied. The carbonation, possibly the only true positive is moderate but supple giving a smooth feel to the swallow. Pretty much a forgettable one sadly. (37,5cL, BBE 06/09, International Beer Shop, W. Leederville)
