Hazy brown beer. Dry crisp palate. Fruity tangy beer with a splash of coca cola. Somewhat let down by a finish that manages to be both dry and wishy washy!

Reviewed mid July 2010, on one of my random beer nights. 25cl bottle poured into a ’Forbidden Fruit’ chalice. The body was a deep, ruby red/brown colour. A tan/off white collar sat around the glass, what head did appear left within 10 seconds of the pour. The smell was a mix of old sour notes and a red berry sweetness. The taste followed on from the aroma, Cherry and Raspberry flavours to me, with more sourness than the smell. Certainly tart, but not a cheek sucking in special like some Belgian beers I could mention. I thought it on the fizzy side, which I believe is not normal in this style, but it added a new dimension to the tasting, which I enjoyed.

On draft at the Brass Tap Sour Breakfast, poured a dark brown color, aromas of vinegar, oak, some lemony fruit, caramel, and a touch of funk. Flavors are the same but a slight cherry thrown in the mix, not as sour as expected from the aroma.

.25 L pours a brown color with a medium white brown head. Aroma of cherries, wood, some roasted nuts. Medium bodied with a great sour finish

25cl bottle.

A decent brown ale but a bit too much vinegar and sweetness in this one to be at the very top of my list. Still worth seeking out.

Nice brown pour. Nutty malt, with vinous notes and moderate acidity.not too sweet. Nice.

On tap at Pizza Plant in Williamsville, NY. Poured a dark but not quite opaque brown with minimal head. Tough to really put my finger on the taste on it. Slight caramel, slight nuttiness, but mostly just a bit of sourness. Not overwhelming (unfortunately, I was hoping it’d be more sour). Pretty good.

Draft. Brown beer with a dark cream colored head. Tart and light fruity aroma. Tart cherry flavor with light sweet malts. Medium bodied. Tart cherry lingers with light oak and light sweet malts.
