Tap @ BBF:NOTF. Nose is balsamic, cherries, sweet ludens cherry cough drops. Flavor follows, but is quite watered down.

Pouring at the Night of the Funk in Boston. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a thin to medium sized white head. Spicy cinnamon, a touch of funk. Soft and sweet, light acid. Lacto, sweet. Sweet and fruity, lightly watery and thin.

(draft @ Tap and Mallet - Rochester, NY) Dark murky brown pour with a very thin tan head. Sweet and slightly earthy tart aroma. Some very mild funk and damp notes. Flavor starts off sweet and fruity with a very light tart undertone. A little sweeter than I thought it’d be for a Flemish brown, but the acidic notes are there. Subtle yet tasty.

Schöne dunkelbraune Farbe; leicht bräunlicher Schaum. Die Optik ist des Namens würdig. Geruch fruchtig und säuerlich. Gleiche Tendenzen beim Geschmack: Lambicartige Töne mit einer spürbaren Trockenheit im Nachhall. Geschmacklich ein interessantes Bier. Im Körper vielleicht etwas wässrig. Hätte etwas voller ausfallen können.Test vom 23.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Pours a nice Dark brown, with a very effervescent head.  Candy, strawberry, crab apple aroma.  Taste has an almost balanced sweet and sour, with sour coming out on top a bit. Getting grape, hay, juicy tart apple (cortland?). A light to medium body, with the carbonation fine but also very efferfescent. Fairly dry finish. Not bad at all.

Dark brown beer with a weak but lasting, beige head. Aroma is interesting and lusting, cherries, some sourness and redwine vinegar, dark fruits and hint of iron. Taste is berry, very sour, balsamico and barnyard. Quite full bodied, slightly sticky but same time also lot of carbonation. Very tastefull beer, enough of complexicity and sourness.

(Bottle) Like Rodenbach , but not as classy or deep on textute. Like a plesant person you’ve got nothing much to say to after beiing introduced too . Bit safe on SOURNESS . Theres buttery cherry,,oak, dark malt . A bloody mouth like acidity which is customary for Flemish browns.

Bouteille de 25cl. Brune opaque, fine mousse de tenue moyenne. Une bière aîgre-douce vraiment bien équilibrée, à l’arôme boisé et au goût relativement peu agressif. Trouvée à Vanuxeem - Ploegstaert.
