2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20

Bottle from Metro hypermarket in Xiamen. Pours deep red with a thin pink head. Fruit sweet aroma. Thin sweet fruit finish. None of the punch of a gueuze.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Labelled as "Liefmans Fruitesse On The Rocks" (although I chose to ignore this serving suggestion) at 3.8% abv. Pours a bright and clear deep rose colour with a thin pink head. Aroma is ridiculously fruity and quite sweet - my wife described it as being somewhere between Tahiti Treat soda and Rose’s Grenadine - with just a faint tartness lingering behind. Flavour follows, with big and bright notes of red berries and slightly sour but mostly sweet cherries. Pretty sweet through the finish as well, although there’s just enough tartness to bring a bit of balance and make you want another drink. More fruit soda than beer? Perhaps - but even so, it’s quite pleasant and refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a ruby rust color with a finger of pinkish foam. Nose is pure berry juice, smells pretty much like berry punch juicy juice. The palate follows with a effervescent mouthfeel and lots of sweet berry notes. Pretty one dimensional and a bit like a grown up soda but nothing to funky or complex going on here.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Pours a ruby red, just like a sparkling fake wine. Tastes just like one, too. A cheerleader beer. Great taste, though, but not really a beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 8.5 oz. bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance –The beer pours a deep ruby red color with a one finger head of red tinted foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big and fruity of red beery fruits with tons of raspberry and strawberry, but also contain good hints of cranberry and current. A little bit of a blueberry and some lighter plum are there as well giving it a very sweet fruity smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins a little less sweet then would have been anticipated from the nose, but still overall it was rather sweet. A big red berry fruit flavor of strawberry, raspberry and cranberry greet the tongue along with some blueberry flavors. These flavors create a base for the brew and last till the end. Along with the berry fruits comes some light doughy sweet malt and some cherry which end up leaving a very sweet, and how many people have aptly described it, Kool-Aid (but I must say adult/gourmet Kool-Aid) flavor, that I must say is not super overly sweet for the style, to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite light with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly higher. Both the light body and higher carbonation are fantastic for the fruit flavors of the brew and create a very crisp and easy drinking brew overall.
Overall – Well I paid $5 for a 4 pack of 8.5 oz. bottles that had an expiration date of 10/14. I would say I won big time on that buy. While not the greatest fruit style brew out there, for $1.25 a bottle this was a fantastic buy overall and makes for a good fruit beer when looking for something light and fruity.
