Liefmans is a unique, refreshing blend of beers, ripened on real cherries in our cellars, blended with natural fruitjuices of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, billberry and elderberry. The result is a slightly Champenoise pearling, fruity, and agreably sweet drink, sparkling and refreshing.

Had this in bottle (someone ex-neighbours Nick & Anna I think? left this at the house) consumed at home, Sunday 14th September 2014 Pours pinky red with large fluffy pinkish hued head. Sweet, a little syrupy sweet, but fruity with sweet cherries. Lacks tartness and a bite, but I knew what I was going to be like and fact is I drank it all quite happily and to be fair there is a little sour cherry. Its ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Huge cherry nose. Sweet red fruit juice, dark cherries, sour sweet finish. Not my thing but a well done classic fruit beer.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a mostly transparent strawberry red with very light pink head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good; nice and fruity with a sweet berry backbone. Lots of cherries. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A nice fruit beer.

[5616-20130731] Tap. Cherry syrup raspberry and blueberry fruity aroma. Clear, bright red body with a medium-lasting foamy light pink head. Super-sweet cherry raspberry continues in the flavour. Medium body. Like a cooler, like drinking a cherry Jolly Rancher but just the straight syrup. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Bottle from Metro hypermarket in Xiamen. Pours deep red with a thin pink head. Fruit sweet aroma. Thin sweet fruit finish. None of the punch of a gueuze.

Bottle from the LCBO. Labelled as "Liefmans Fruitesse On The Rocks" (although I chose to ignore this serving suggestion) at 3.8% abv. Pours a bright and clear deep rose colour with a thin pink head. Aroma is ridiculously fruity and quite sweet - my wife described it as being somewhere between Tahiti Treat soda and Rose’s Grenadine - with just a faint tartness lingering behind. Flavour follows, with big and bright notes of red berries and slightly sour but mostly sweet cherries. Pretty sweet through the finish as well, although there’s just enough tartness to bring a bit of balance and make you want another drink. More fruit soda than beer? Perhaps - but even so, it’s quite pleasant and refreshing.

Pours a ruby rust color with a finger of pinkish foam. Nose is pure berry juice, smells pretty much like berry punch juicy juice. The palate follows with a effervescent mouthfeel and lots of sweet berry notes. Pretty one dimensional and a bit like a grown up soda but nothing to funky or complex going on here.

On tap at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Pours a ruby red, just like a sparkling fake wine. Tastes just like one, too. A cheerleader beer. Great taste, though, but not really a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Where and how: LCBO, bottle 250 ml
Aroma sweet sugary sour cherry front with fruity gummi bear candy top end.
Appearance :
Top: pink tinted lighter lasting top.
Base: pink ruby, clear.
Palate : mid bodied, mid yet delicate carbonation.
Taste: sweet but with nice fruity sour cherry feel. Mild tartness. Straight approach.
Other notes good starter to style. Could be more aggressive.
