Liefmans is a unique, refreshing blend of beers, ripened on real cherries in our cellars, blended with natural fruitjuices of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, billberry and elderberry. The result is a slightly Champenoise pearling, fruity, and agreably sweet drink, sparkling and refreshing.

25cl bottle.

Deep red of color with a reddish white head. An aroma of raspberries, red wine gums, cerriea, candy, sweets and fruity. A flavor of cherries, raspberries, dry, yoghurt, sour and fresh.

Bottle from Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Super-translucent pink with a swiftly dissipating whitish head. Red liquorice scent with hints of pear and roses. Smells tasty but insignificant. Sweet taste, but favour foul and balanced. Finish is a bit drier than I expected. So yeah, this is actually quite tasty.

Bottle at Ottakringer Beer shop. Red color with minimal pink head. Sweet cherries in aroma. Sweet cherries, stones, vanilla in taste.

Bottle at Ottakringer shop. Clear ruby colour. Almost no head. Really strong over the top cherry aroma. Seems slmewhat artificial, reminds me of raw shisha cherry tobacco. Taste gives away the same impression as aroma. Lightly sour but overall weak and thin and flavoured over the top.

pours almost clear bright red with a small pink cap, no particular lacing. cherry burst, fresh cherries but also some artificial notes; cherry-flavoured candies, maraschinos, raspberry-vanilla powder, citrus, no malt character - or lambic (duh). moderate carbonation - slightly prickly, light body - thin; balanced sweetness/lightly tart and lightly astringent woodsy-spicy-cherry finish. fragrantly disturbing but a still pleasant fruit juice. drank the whole (25cl) bottle. yup.

Bottle from supermarket in Pernera. As Liefmans Fruitesse on the Rocks. Did not serve this as suggested with six ice cubes. Deep red, pink head. Aroma is like the "sour cherry" juice we had for breakfast, meaning it is sweet with slightly artificial cherry and some marzipan. Taste has strawberry, cherry, raspberry and is quite sweet. Could be quite a nice light and refreshing fruity drink, but not an amazing beer.

Keg at gollem, served with ice? Pours deep ruby, nose is berries, strawberry, taste is sweet, fruity, sugary, basically juice.

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Not really a beer, more like very sweet lemonade...

Bouteille: Almost clear, lively carbonation, mid-sized creamy pinkish head, ruby-red coloured; sweet nose of - presumably - artificial-fruity aromas, possibly different kinds of berries; moderate sweet flavour, soft but light bodied and sticky; short sweet and artificial finish with a mild, but increasing tartness in the aftertaste. No, thanks…
