Great beer, like it right out of the tap at the brewery, plus I got two bottles from the brewery

22oz bottle from Atom, thanks Adam! Pours a crystal clear, deeper gold colored body with a finger-width, frothy and creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet with honey and Belgian yeast up front as well as a mix of licorice, banana, vanilla, and spices. A bit bready with maybe a touch of citrus. Flavor is similar. Some honey, bready caramels, and grains up front with a medium-light sweetness as well as a soft vanilla, Belgian yeast, a few estery fruit notes, banana, clove, and a touch of licorice. Finishes clean and dry with a light bitterness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste with some licorice, vanilla, and spice lingering. Medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid beer. Easy drinking and well balanced with a lot going on. Love the vanilla, licorice, and honey combination with the lightly spiced Belgian yeast. Good one.

Sweet. Some spice. Has a banana bread flavor. Some Belgium beer characteristics. Ok for the holidays. That’s about it

Bottle: Reddish orange pour with a thick foamy off white head.
aroma is Belgian yeast, honey, light banana, vanilla.
A lot more spice and vanilla coming through in the flavour, very sweet. butter cookie, malted wheat. that distinct belgian yeast coming through towards the finish where it leaves with a hint of alc and more spices.

Gold/Red color with small white head. Hops and fruit on the nose. Interesting flavor...fruity/yeasty and some yeasty taste. A bit of cherry. Smooth and drinkable. Good.

Time to pull this one out of the fridge. Lift Bridge has lifted their game recently, so I’m optimistic. But a cookie beer?
Pour is golden/amber & appears slightly unfiltered, though there are no boogies in the bottle bottom. Smell is untamed & festive as a Christmas kitchen: most of the spice rack & vanilla drown out whatever beer bouquet one might imagine.
Biscotti doesn’t regale the taste buds like it does the nose. Taste flattens & dulls the best of the nose. Vanilla takes on an off-brand quality, the spicing is aggressive without adding much, & the Belgian yeast is like dumping weird on top of muddled. Strong banana in the end-game, again, muddled with other, darker fruits.
This is like a Welch’s Juice Concoction gone wrong. Not bad by any means, but more of a beer with too much going on in the bottle & nothing to bring it all together. Decent enough.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Snifter.
Appearance: Orangish-red with nice off-white head and some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, fruity (cherry, plum, banana), boozy, and spicy (clove, cardamon). Some light mead-like characteristics.
Taste: More muted than the aroma and not as sweet. There are a lot of fruity notes (notably cherry and plum) with strong toasted malts, honey, and lemon pepper from the Grains of Paradise. Some very light Belgian yeast flavors. There are a lot of flavors going on here, but it is all a little muddled other than the Grains of Paradise.
Palate: Thick, full body that is somewhat chalky. Pretty dry throughout.
Overall: Pretty good, but could certainly use some tweaking to make the flavors stand out more.

Tap at Pig and Fiddle on January 20, 2012. Orangish brown pour maybe but this damn bar is too dark to tell for sure. Aroma is bready, sweet, little honey. Taste is similar to aroma with a spicy kick and throw in a mild bitter and dry finish.
