Great beer, like it right out of the tap at the brewery, plus I got two bottles from the brewery

On tap at Mad Cappers in Stillwater, MN. Looked to be reddish brown in the low light. Lightly spicey aroma. Taste of Belgian yeast, clove and spice. Bready finish. Went well with a meal. Nicely done.

22oz bottle from Atom, thanks Adam! Pours a crystal clear, deeper gold colored body with a finger-width, frothy and creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet with honey and Belgian yeast up front as well as a mix of licorice, banana, vanilla, and spices. A bit bready with maybe a touch of citrus. Flavor is similar. Some honey, bready caramels, and grains up front with a medium-light sweetness as well as a soft vanilla, Belgian yeast, a few estery fruit notes, banana, clove, and a touch of licorice. Finishes clean and dry with a light bitterness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste with some licorice, vanilla, and spice lingering. Medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid beer. Easy drinking and well balanced with a lot going on. Love the vanilla, licorice, and honey combination with the lightly spiced Belgian yeast. Good one.

Bottle to glass. Aroma is pretty solid with a little bit of the anise noticable in licorice form with lots of yeasty goodness going on. A little bit of vanilla as well once you let warm up. Hazy gold-amber pour with nice white head. This beer was a lot of fun to gauge as it warmed up. There was a but of spiciness to it as well. This was a big hit at the new years eve party. I will pick up more of this for sure

Tap at Pig and Fiddle on January 20, 2012. Orangish brown pour maybe but this damn bar is too dark to tell for sure. Aroma is bready, sweet, little honey. Taste is similar to aroma with a spicy kick and throw in a mild bitter and dry finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tripplebrew (764) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Pours a very cloudy golden orange with thick cream coored head. Aroma is clove, orange zest and candi sugar. Flavor is very reminiscent of a tripel style but a bit of a tart bite. Not as sweet as the aoma suggests. notes of coriander and mild hopes present. Body light/creamy but light carbonation.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 28, 2012
Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Snifter.
Appearance: Orangish-red with nice off-white head and some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, fruity (cherry, plum, banana), boozy, and spicy (clove, cardamon). Some light mead-like characteristics.
Taste: More muted than the aroma and not as sweet. There are a lot of fruity notes (notably cherry and plum) with strong toasted malts, honey, and lemon pepper from the Grains of Paradise. Some very light Belgian yeast flavors. There are a lot of flavors going on here, but it is all a little muddled other than the Grains of Paradise.
Palate: Thick, full body that is somewhat chalky. Pretty dry throughout.
Overall: Pretty good, but could certainly use some tweaking to make the flavors stand out more.

A lot more spice and vanilla coming through in the flavour, very sweet. butter cookie, malted wheat. that distinct belgian yeast coming through towards the finish where it leaves with a hint of alc and more spices.

Winterfest 2009 (St. Paul, MN) - This seemed to have a lot of saison qualities. Dry, sour, with some licorice and anise spices. Decent brew.

On draught at Stub & Herb’s in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a hazy golden orange brew with a decent off-white head that has some spotty lacing and a thin white ring. Aroma of Belgian yeast, a hint of black licorice, vanilla, banana esters, some toffee and some clove. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of banana esters, yeast, some cloves, vanilla, a hint of honey and a touch of licorice. Finish has a mild acidic character that leaves behind some honey and mild spice aftertaste.
