Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. Boozy with caramel and dark fermented fruits. A decent amount of bourbon here too. Good, but not great.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle courtesy of "Mr.Plumpy". Colour...ruby-amber with no head. Nose...sweet and oaky with loads of cardamom and hints of various sweet spices. Palate...delicate CO2, dry but sweet though not cloying. The cardamom is present and its almost like drinking a Swedish bolle. There’s some yeasty fresh baked rolls here and caramel as well. A dandy barley wine with a twist!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Previoius year’s release, probably 14 months old. Redish brown, almost ruby appearance, small tan head. Aroma is strong and wonderful, big sweet malts, some fruity esters and alcohol burn. Opens quite sweet and nice, but there is just something missing in the middle. The finish is sweet with a hint of cardamom but mostly just alcohol. I had high hopes for this by the way it smells, but the taste disappoints.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a sort of hazy brown with a little quickly disappearing head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, fruits and malt. Flavor is harsh booze initially butit mellows into a nice barley wine. Caramel, bourbon and some fruit/spice notes. Like it a lot, will get better with age.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL bottle, 2011 vintage, #3570. Poured a lovely shade of copper with a nice cap of khaki head.. looked great in the glass! The aroma picked up lots of sweet bourbon and cardamom with oak and metallic barrel accents.. pepper and rye spicage plus warmth around.. nice. The flavor found tangy, slightly metallic notes and black pepper on the tip of the tongue, with sweet molasses, caramel, and a touch of maple behind.. spicy bourbon and tasty cardamom around.. finished with rich, syrupy, alcohol-fueled sugars and tasty barrel. Heavy-bodied and engaging on the palate.. lots of sweets, lots of barrel, and lots of tastiness. Awesome brew!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a darkish amber with thin head. Some spice aroma. The cardamom is really heavy in the flavor, which is also very boozy. The alcohol content is quite evident. Not as complexly flavorful or as subtle as some barley wines. And as others have mentioned, this really is overpriced for what it is.

Shared by mdfb79. Thanks Dan.
The beer is bright orange with a small, fleeting, off white head. The aroma offers sweet malt and an abundant spice character. Mint, pepper, cardamom. Ehh...this is ok, but not my thing. Minty, spicy, sweet. I can understand why some people may enjoy this more than I, but again, this is not my cup of tea/beer. Alcohol is pretty mild, considering the high abv. A good beer for sure, and worth a try.
