This pale golder, Belgian-influenced ale is for everyone: Farm Girl, wannabe Farm Girl. In the Belgian Farmhouse tradition, this brew has a dry malt finish and a spicyness that only Belgian yeasts can create. Smooth and well rounded... this one can please anyone in any situation, whether you are on the water, in the sun, or hiding from winter’s chill.

On tap at Groveland Tap. Poured a cloudy gold with red and orange tints. Head was white and thin. Aroma was light and fruity (apples and cherries present) with some yeasty notes. Flavor was nice and light as well. Some apple and cherry notes. A nice light sweet beer.

Pours golden with white head, aroma is slight belgian spice and esters. Taste is light ester banana and spices with a slightly sweet middle that finishes dry and rather plain. Not bad flavors, just not many of them.

Bottle, shared by Ferris. Bright hazy lemony yellow with a soft pillowy head. Strong aroma of marshmallow banana candies and bubblegum. Sweet profile, and I can’t ignore the candyish character-- more like a sweetened Belgian witbier than a saison. Didn’t care for it at all.

Bottle from a trade, can’t remember who with at this point. Also, thought I had tried this already (and may have in fact), and almost gave this to someone as an extra before I checked, so hooray for discovering hidden gems in the cellar. Pours a very cloudy golden yellow with a medium sized creamy white head. Nice musk, a bit of banana, wheat, peppery. Medium bodied, lightly sweet, a bit more musky yeast. Finishes lightly, touch of sweetness, bit of fruit. Not bad.

Bottle via a trade with bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed golden-brown body and a small, fizzy white head that dissipates. Aroma of honey, pear, oxidation, biscuit, banana and fennel. Taste is pear, caramel, vanilla, earth, toffee. Very fruity and sweet for a saison. Cereal. Medium to lively bubbles. Not super dry. Okay saison at best. Better to think of it as a regular belgian ale, as it is not dry or estery (in the correct way) enough.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a mostly cloudy orange color with a medium white head. A spicy and citrus nose. A smooth citrus, sweet malts, and honey flavor. Yeasty and spicy. Easy to drink.

Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with very little white head on top. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of coriander, orange zest, and earthy spices over pale malts.. smelled dry, and was perhaps too assertive. The flavor found a little honey to join pale malts at the core.. again strong and spicy on the edges with tart orange zest and wheat leading.. coriander and white pepper as well.. long finish with tacky malts and spices. Light-medium bodied and a bit rough on the palate.. overall this was OK.

In short: A muddy floral witbier calling itself a Saison. Fails as a Saison, acceptable as muddy thirst quencher
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed fresh as soon as I received it from beastiefan2k, thanks Eugene
The look: Ugly banana purée color topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose of yeasty ripe banana esters. Taste of white bread, mangos, bananas, a little lemon zest, marshmallows, citrus fruits. Dead flowers show up in the finish to remove some of the fruity sweetness. Overall this feels like a rather muddy witbier more than a Saison. As far as Saisons are concerned this is a complete failure, but sold as a witbier (or even a hefe) this is an acceptable beer. I’m a Saison-whore so I need to try them all but this just is not a Saison. It’s like they put the wrong beer in the bottle. Like that time a stripper jumped out of the cake, following a mix-up at the bakery, and completely ruined my nephew’s fourth birthday.
