COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This pale golder, Belgian-influenced ale is for everyone: Farm Girl, wannabe Farm Girl. In the Belgian Farmhouse tradition, this brew has a dry malt finish and a spicyness that only Belgian yeasts can create. Smooth and well rounded... this one can please anyone in any situation, whether you are on the water, in the sun, or hiding from winter’s chill.

Tap in Republic, Minneapolis. Wheaty, grainy, flat looking yellow in colour, a little sweet, good yeasty feel, quenching. Maybe not the most complex beer ever made but very refreshing.

Thanks for the bottle Tim. 12oz bottle served in a Bells snifter a few minutes out of the fridge. Subtle lightly toasted malt, light fruits and some pepper in the aroma. Light golden color with a smallish head and active carbonation. Cracker-like malt character, slight herbal and floral hops and some light fruit and a white pepper spiciness at the finish. Easy to drink, but somewhat reserved.

(on tap, served way too cold) Poured hazy light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is predominately orange peel, coriander, and a decent hit of bready yeast as well. Further warming intensifies these aromas, and a light hint of funk is revealed. The taste is standard saison fare, with coriander, more orange zest, with an underlying sweetness giving way to a pleasant cracker-like finish. All in all, this was quite good, and it would serve well as a sessionable beer in the warmer summer months.

6 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom as part of a six-beer flight. Consumed on 5-30-14. Pours a hazy, pale straw with light beige to off-white head. Fruity aroma features scents of peach and fruit candy cane. The smell also is tart, with scents of apple cider and apple vinegar. Strong aroma. Tart and dry taste features an apple juice element. There is a touch of aspirin tablet acridity in the flavor, but not in a bad way, believe it or not. Light to medium body. Lively, frothy, crisp, and refreshing in the tablet. Overall, this is a solid American saison.

Pour from bottle at Target Field. Not my favorite beer. Strange aftertastes.

On Cask. Light pour with a medium spicy yeasty aroma. Smooth and light fruit flavors accompanied the spiciness. Had a dry finish. Decent.

Originally reviewed: 10/5/09. Pours a very cloudy light gold. Reminded me of a lemonade. There’s a very fizzy white head right away, but this pops away to nothing very quickly. No lace. Smells of pineapple, honey, and sour apples. The mouth is fairly spritzy, but not harsh. Nice tart flavor right away like apples and lemons. Finishes smooth and bready. I like the aftertaste. I expected more of a fruity finish, but I like this. Not a bad beer by any means. I could have a few of these. Quite refreshing.

Bottle(s) from tytoanderso, thanks Ty! Poured a lightly hazy golden-yellow color with a thin, fizzy white head that shrunk to a ring. Aroma of citrus (orange peel, tangerine), light banana, doughy yeast, a moderate spiciness (pepper and coriander), and some light herbal hops. Smooth, lightly tart entry with soft notes of orange and tangerine leads into a moderately sweet, doughy middle with some hints of spice (coriander) that linger into the lightly dry finish where they are paired with some light peach flavors. Moderate carbonation and somewhat spritzy mouth feel. Overall, it’s a solid attempt at a saison, but it lacks that earthy dryness that is present in traditional examples of the style. Still, it’s bad ass you can get it in six packs. Thanks again Ty.

16 oz. can pours a hazy apple juice color with a small dissipating white head. Aroma has Belgian yeast, spices, and orange. Tastes sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Medium body with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Veryt refreshing on a hot day.
