2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle courtesy of buebie.
Pours a very light and very clear yellow with a small bubbly white head that recedes slowly to a solid collar but leaves no trace of lacing.
The aroma is slightly sweet with some green apples and apricots on top of grass and Belgian yeast spiciness.
The taste is light and almost watery with some grassy hops up front and apples and pears following closely. The finish is dry and very much like a pilsner honestly. In fact, the whole thing tastes more like a pilsner than a saison now that I think about it.
The mouthfeel is light bodied and extremely crisp and clean for the style. It’s got very little spiciness that I would expect in the style.
This is a solid and very drinkable beer but I don’t think it’s really great for the style, as it offers very little complexity.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: hazy straw which start to clear up near the bottom as she settles in my glass. Little head to speak of, though a white collar clings tightly to the sides.
Nose: lemon, dough, and spice ohmy. Lemon bars with just a slight sugar dusting for sweetness while her otherwise tartness reigns. Softness to the nose which belies soft white breads while key lime and lemon grass tickle the back.
Palate: bright atop my tongue; lemon bars. Moves into soft doughy white breads with a hint of leather and spice in the finish. A solid yeasty chewy quality to the entirety of our session together. Lemon bars settle once more, this time upon the top of my tongue, lingering long after each quaff. An earthen leather funk is a gentle stream underneath, there but not dominant. Key lime teases in the very back.
Final Thoughts: overall, a dandy of a saison which is in and of itself a loose style with even looser interpretations. That being said, she was of the seasons and of the earth. Thanks sis for yet another tasty brew!

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle acquired via trade with tennisjoel. Pale yellow pour with a thick, frothy white head. Aroma of leather, sweat, and yeast. Actually the aroma is similar to walking into a woman’s hair salon. Flavor is light and satisfying with notes of lemon and orange along with some bread. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
6 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s taproom as part of a six-beer flight. Consumed on 5-30-14. Pours a hazy, pale straw with light beige to off-white head. Fruity aroma features scents of peach and fruit candy cane. The smell also is tart, with scents of apple cider and apple vinegar. Strong aroma. Tart and dry taste features an apple juice element. There is a touch of aspirin tablet acridity in the flavor, but not in a bad way, believe it or not. Light to medium body. Lively, frothy, crisp, and refreshing in the tablet. Overall, this is a solid American saison.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap in Republic, Minneapolis. Wheaty, grainy, flat looking yellow in colour, a little sweet, good yeasty feel, quenching. Maybe not the most complex beer ever made but very refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle into my favorite tulip glass.
Pours a very clear golden color. Slight head with no lacing. Smells of cloves and slight banana. Smooth taste. Very little to no hop flavor. Dry after taste.
This is a beer for the summer time, although I am drinking it mid-winter in MN, oh well.
Drinkable for sure!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[Bottle] Pours hazy orange with the head basically just a white ring that fades to nothing. Aroma is apricot, coriander, yeast, some maltiness and a touch of alcohol. Taste falls short of the aroma. A little peach, a lot of coriander again and malt. Mouthfeel is fairly thin, but finish is somewhat dry and quite long. Not bad, fairly enjoyable even if it is far from a standout and not real exciting to rate.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(on tap, served way too cold) Poured hazy light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is predominately orange peel, coriander, and a decent hit of bready yeast as well. Further warming intensifies these aromas, and a light hint of funk is revealed. The taste is standard saison fare, with coriander, more orange zest, with an underlying sweetness giving way to a pleasant cracker-like finish. All in all, this was quite good, and it would serve well as a sessionable beer in the warmer summer months.
