COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This pale golder, Belgian-influenced ale is for everyone: Farm Girl, wannabe Farm Girl. In the Belgian Farmhouse tradition, this brew has a dry malt finish and a spicyness that only Belgian yeasts can create. Smooth and well rounded... this one can please anyone in any situation, whether you are on the water, in the sun, or hiding from winter’s chill.

Bottle poured into my HOTD tulip glass.

A - Pours straw yellow with a decent one finger tall white head leaving small wisps of lacing down the glass.

S - Smells like a wheat beer to me. It has a few hints of apples, pears, and lemon but it is mostly just wheat.

T - Starts off with a big dose of chewy wheat slowly giving way to a mix of dulled fruits - similar to the nose - and a touch of light funk. Finish is pretty chewy, lingering for some time. Is this really a saison? Could have fooled me.

M - Light body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Chewy feel with a tiny bit of funk, lingering through the finish.

O - Meh, this was ok at best. It really didn’t taste like a saison at all until it came completely to room temp. I wouldn’t seek this one out.

Slightly cloudy yellow. Yeast lactic smells lemon citric. Tastes of funk dust yeast bananas barley. Some pleasant lactic mouthfeel. Slightly watery but a great light saison.

bottle. Poured hazy straw coloured with a thin white head. Faint citrusy wheat aroma. Light body, prickly carbonation, dry finish. Flavour of light malt, yeasty with lemon citrus and a hint of spice.

Pours a cloudy orange/yellow with only about 1/8th inch of fizzy white foam. Nice and dry, crisp a bit of fruity sweetness. Finishes with some barn yard funk, hay/grass. Decent beer nicely balanced not over spiced. Biggest knock against it is that it’s undercarbed for the style.

12oz bottle. Pours clear golden yellow, barely any head. Slightly sour yeast bread aroma, taste is clear and sour. It’s a bit thin to be a saison, but ok.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2011 Poured from bottle into Tulip. Hazy, very pale yellow (Wit-like). Very active with bubbly head and some nice lacing. Champagne-like bubbles. Aroma of citrus, clove, pepper, banana, overall sourness. Orange peel, coriander, cloves, wheat malt, slightly tart. Once again, seems very much like a Witbier. Relatively high carbonation, light body. Pretty dry but not as dry as other Saisons. Nice, refreshing, easy-to-drink Wit, I mean Saison. Doesn’t matter, it is a solid, thirst quenching brew. Looking forward to trying their other beers, such as the 55 IBU Pale Ale with grapefruit zest (Crosscut) and the Lingonberry infused Tripel (Minnesota Tan). Nice to have another Minnesota brewery. Welcome!

12fl oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head and fine sediment. Aroma has nice notes of candy sugar, bubblegum, citrus, and a very mild spice. Taste is slightly sweet with some farmhouse flavour and citrus. Low-medium body with a medium carbonation. Pretty clean and dry in the mouth. Overall refreshing and drinkable. Decent enough flavours but not top in class.

Nice vivid saison, with some spiced funk. Good gold with aggressive white head that becomes rocky. Drinks easy with slight complexity.

Sweet smelling. Tart up front, a little spice going down, and a smooth, bready, earthy taste. Low-medium carbonation, pleasant aftertaste. Very drinkable, and surprisingly good.
