I really liked this. Served from a cask at Winterfest 09. I can’t remember the last time I had an imperial stout with so many tannis, berry, and red wine character. Some soy sauce, thick palate. The best new imperial stout I have had in a long time. Some chocolate.

On draught during Winterfest 2009 in St Paul, MN. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick and creamy tan head that has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, chocolate and coffee, a hint of molasses, and a little pumpernickel. Taste is medium to full bodied, flavors of toasted dark malt, a hint of vanilla, chocolate, and some molasses. Finish has a little alcohol bite with a thick dark toasted malt with chocolate aftertaste that slowly disappears. Nicely done!
