COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the delightful combination of whiskey, sugar and coffee. However, you donít have to be Irish and it doesnít have to be morning to enjoy this labor of love. Our Imperial Stout was aged in whiskey barrels, then blended with a big Milk Stout, and finally infused with locally roasted cold-pressed coffee. Itís a complex beer meant to be shared with friends over an Irish toast.

Black color with a small head. Strong Kaluha aroma: coffee, sugar, booze. Solid coffee flavor, at times seemed a bit stale. Very light roasty character. Light vanilla and alcohol.

Pours jet black with dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and whiskey. Nice creamy mouthful with more chocolate, some coffee, and the perfect amount of whiskey. Fairly sweet which is how I prefer my imperial stouts. This is simply fantastic. I wish I had more bottles.

bottle. Pours almost black with a nice carmel head. The aroma is robust and the milk stout is prominent, as well as some chocolate notes. Very impressed by the aroma, light coffee. You get more coffee in the taste. The whiskey is light, but noticeable. Finishes rather clean. A good stout.

[Bottle] Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is heavy on coffee and whiskey. The taste also has a lot of whiskey influence, along with char. The taste is a little thin, and has a long, chalky finish. Iíd be interested in trying this one in a non-tasting setting some time. Other than the char getting a little annoying, this was pretty solid though.

Bottle from Alpar. Pours dark brown with espresso head. Aroma of cocoa, fudge, light coffee, vanilla, lacto, wood. Taste is sweet with coffee and light whiskey. Medium bodied and a dry, slightly bitter finish. I like it.

Bottle... Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, beige head. The nose furnishes notes of dried plum, burnt malt and subtle coffee with hints of chocolate and malt whiskey - maybe a trace of acetaldehyde. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor presents an odd marriage of fruity essences and roasted, moderately bitter malts. Finishes a hint chocolaty, but mostly bland. Whereís the whiskey and coffee? I like my stuff BIG! Bottle courtesy of KickInChalice.

Thanks to burg326 for sharing this one around. Cheers, Adam! Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Nose is coffee, some light chocolate, and whiskey. Flavor is exactly as promised: roasted coffee and whiskey along with some earth and dark chocolate. Light to medium in body and lingering coffee and whiskey in the finish.

Thanks to Bob for the 750mL bottle! Poured high-viscosity brown with a creamy cap of dark tan head.. looked great in the glass! The aroma picked up bit lactose and other sweet chocolatey notes joined by some dry-roasted coffee.. not a whole lot of whisky barrel was apparent, but there was related vanilla and a hint of oak.. came back to lactose sugars and chocolate on the back of the nose. The flavor found tangy whisky barrel accents over cream and chocolate notes at the core.. dry coffee roast, tart oak, and surprisingly clean whisky notes on the edges.. peppery and spicy, but with really good balance on the warm finish.. tasty stuff! Medium-plus bodied and fairly full on the palate.. lots of roast held the hefty sweetness in check.. I enjoyed the long, sweet-yet-barrely finish.. really good stuff!
