4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big bottle sent to me from Alpar, thanks again for this one, poured a dark brown, almost black color witha romas of cold coffee, whiskey, chocolate, more coffee, and more whiskey. Flavors of a cold Irish coffee. This beer was pretty amazing, had it with breakfeast, and man it was amazing. I really liked this beer, and I am in debt to Alpar for finding more for me. This was a simple beer that was straight foward, and I really enjoyed it alot.

Thanks to Bob for the 750mL bottle! Poured high-viscosity brown with a creamy cap of dark tan head.. looked great in the glass! The aroma picked up bit lactose and other sweet chocolatey notes joined by some dry-roasted coffee.. not a whole lot of whisky barrel was apparent, but there was related vanilla and a hint of oak.. came back to lactose sugars and chocolate on the back of the nose. The flavor found tangy whisky barrel accents over cream and chocolate notes at the core.. dry coffee roast, tart oak, and surprisingly clean whisky notes on the edges.. peppery and spicy, but with really good balance on the warm finish.. tasty stuff! Medium-plus bodied and fairly full on the palate.. lots of roast held the hefty sweetness in check.. I enjoyed the long, sweet-yet-barrely finish.. really good stuff!

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thick black pour with nice tan head, aroma brought notes of espresso, dark chocolate, hints of lactose, touch of grain, caramel, toffee in there as well, smells very nice. Taste is a mix of green espresso bean, hints of coffee, whiskey, slight oak, nice chocolate in there, finishing fairly coffee forward with lots of dark chocolate, slightly bitter, Very tasty.

Pours jet black with dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and whiskey. Nice creamy mouthful with more chocolate, some coffee, and the perfect amount of whiskey. Fairly sweet which is how I prefer my imperial stouts. This is simply fantastic. I wish I had more bottles.

This was a great surprise. Not because I was surprised by the quality coming out of Lift Bridge but because we were having a chili tasting at my church and we had a selection of mainstream beers (Summitt) but then one of the guys at church brought this bottle to share. What a treat. Thereís a really good balance in the flavors, with a little whisky apparent and a very subtle coffee (honestly, not really figuring into my thinking about the beer), and a richness that was wholly appropriate. Great finish, not noticeably sweet or anything. Definitely a winner. Bottle.

Purs a dark black. Has a pretty good amount of carbonation. Smells like coffee and a hint of bourbon. Taste is roasty with a nice touch of coffee and just a bit of bourbon on the tongue. Big lacing throughout. This is a nice treat from lift bridge.

Very solid coffee stout the only spot for improvement is the aromatics. They are almost not there! Mild coffee notes but not much else. Pours straight jet black which a thick creamy head. initial tastes are of coffee followed by malt, caramel and chocolate. What is notably missing is any taste of alcohol (very nice at 8% means they have room to push that up!)! Great creamy thickness to the palate! I really like this beer! Its better out of the bottle then any other times I have tried it.

Shared by turdfergson. Very nice pour, inky black with a dark chestnut brown head. Nice nose, rich with notes of blackstrap molasses and espresso roast. Bitter chocolate and a rich sweetness. Some bite comes through with a mild acidity but its very well contained in the beer. Nice residual body and modest carbonation. Coffee and chocolate dominate.
