(On tap at Christieís) I guess theyíve now got the "extreme" IPA and this one... I like the balanced nature of this though. When you close your nose when tasting an IPA, the English ones tend to be more sweet and the North Americans more bitter. This was more sweet. Hops were the usual but a bit grassier than regular for the style. Itís good.

Dark amber color with creamy head. The aroma is very mild, some caramel; also, the beer is too cold. Mild caramel flavor with correct bitterness and not much hop character.
Ordinary Pale Ale.

Pours amber, frothy head. Aroma is lightly hoppy, slightly earthy and fruity. Taste us mildly citrus peel, fruity, finish is quite lovely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Love Lighthouse beers for being refreshing and easy to drink. This one is pretty good, pours golden amber with a fizzy head leaving no lace. Very earthy and malty for an IPA too. Iíll stick to their Switchback (an AMAZING beer) as far as IPAs go and take a pass on this one.

Bottle 5.3% Taster pack. Clear amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hops, roasted malt, and is quite earthy. Taste is more of the same, dry hops and roast malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of caramel. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Quite good

This is not an IPA, unless we are speaking about the world according to Alexander Keith. Beyond not being an IPA itís also boring. A little malty without any head or lacing, pours clear orange. Tastes like a lager. Average carbonation. On tap at the Beagle Pub.

Well Lighthouse what have you got for me tonight? An IPA you say, well then lets get this done. Lighter non-intense IPA, almost chocolaty, watery, lemon, earthy spice. Heavy malts with upfront bitterness that fades to sweet in the finish. There is a nondescript sharpness in the aroma thatís driving me nuts because I canít figure it out. Good easy to drink beer with nothing really bad about it except probably one of the last IPAís Iíd ever reach for.

Pity pack. Light amber, sticky thin of white head. Maybe my nose isnít working. Itís fairly muted. Somewhat sweet caramel, light citrus and even lighter pine. English IPA style. Super drinkable. Heavy on the malts, light pine and spice, dull fruit but something makes my mouth water. Sharpness, much better warm.

355ml brown bottle. Medium golden pour, large white head, foamy and airy. Some patchy lacework left in the glass. Nose has some sweetness and fruity notes and is pretty mild. Taste has caramel malt and fruitiness up front, grassy and mildly spicy hop notes. Grassy finish, late bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Overall pretty unexciting middle of the road English type IPA. Probably would not drink this again.

355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is floral with some grass and hints of caramel. Taste is grassy hop bitterness with a generous malty sweetness for the style. A little on the sweet side for an IPA, but overall, still tasty and recommended as a good session ale.

Amber, Copper. Floral hops comes through on the nose. Some oily bitterness but doesnt linger long. Good but not great IPA.
