Good malt, flavour reminded me of choclate and strawberries. More generaly, very english. The hops were restrained but worked well as intended: earthy, crisp, and mild.

This is not an IPA, unless we are speaking about the world according to Alexander Keith. Beyond not being an IPA it’s also boring. A little malty without any head or lacing, pours clear orange. Tastes like a lager. Average carbonation. On tap at the Beagle Pub.

Well Lighthouse what have you got for me tonight? An IPA you say, well then lets get this done. Lighter non-intense IPA, almost chocolaty, watery, lemon, earthy spice. Heavy malts with upfront bitterness that fades to sweet in the finish. There is a nondescript sharpness in the aroma that’s driving me nuts because I can’t figure it out. Good easy to drink beer with nothing really bad about it except probably one of the last IPA’s I’d ever reach for.

Pity pack. Light amber, sticky thin of white head. Maybe my nose isn’t working. It’s fairly muted. Somewhat sweet caramel, light citrus and even lighter pine. English IPA style. Super drinkable. Heavy on the malts, light pine and spice, dull fruit but something makes my mouth water. Sharpness, much better warm.

355ml brown bottle. Medium golden pour, large white head, foamy and airy. Some patchy lacework left in the glass. Nose has some sweetness and fruity notes and is pretty mild. Taste has caramel malt and fruitiness up front, grassy and mildly spicy hop notes. Grassy finish, late bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Overall pretty unexciting middle of the road English type IPA. Probably would not drink this again.

355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is floral with some grass and hints of caramel. Taste is grassy hop bitterness with a generous malty sweetness for the style. A little on the sweet side for an IPA, but overall, still tasty and recommended as a good session ale.

Amber, Copper. Floral hops comes through on the nose. Some oily bitterness but doesnt linger long. Good but not great IPA.

On tap at Smith’s Pub. British hops shine through in this mellow (for the region), well-malted IPA.

Definitely more of a European style IPA. Lots of malt backing with the some citrusy hops evident in the body and in the finish, but fairly mellow. It’s easy drinking but still decent.

On tap at Christies. Pours a clear amber with light head. Aroma of light malts. Clean malt taste, not overly hopped: something to appreciate these days.

On tap in a 10 oz glass at Garrick’s Pub in Victoria. Little head or nose. Nice amber color. First taste impression is sweet and malt. No hops evident. Simple.
