Our flagship ale! This deep amber ale has a smooth & malty character that is mellow, satisfying and full flavored. Often called ‘a dark beer that doesn’t taste dark’, the clean & creamy character has distinguished itself from all other amber ales! Gold Medal, Amber Ale Canadian Brewing Awards 2005

Appearance: Bottle to grolsch glass, beer poured a dark transparent brown with a beige head. Aroma: Hops come through the most, leafy and grassy. The malt follows with notes of caramel and a strong scent of barley. It is on the weak side though and somewhat uninteresting. Taste: similar to some English ESBs and that is probably because of water modification. The beer is somewhat sour and harsh, with some hop bitterness. Palate: thin body, finishes dry, carbonation is medium though mouthfeel has a creamy texture which is weird. Overall: Decent but not as good as the others in this mix pack.

Aroma is sweet malts, caramel and light honey. Taste is light/medium malt body, some light roastiness and balanced pretty well with a light hopiness. Appearance is a clear copper with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Rouge/marron avec une mousse beige moyenne. L’arôme de malt, un peu sucré. Le goût est du malt légèrement sucré avec une finale très peu amer mais bien équilibré. En bouche c’est un peu crayeux.

Clear deep amber color. Smells bitter and nutty. There is a walnut bitterness to the taste that fades quick. The palate is left with a slight coating of the flavor of the sip.

A nice foamy head that release lots of malty aromas. A reddish brown ale with a creamy mouth feel. Hints of chocolate and honey, a very smooth drinking beer.

A little rough. Smells like nothing, pours amber without head or lacing and tastes like tin with some malt that ends in a sour way. Nothing to see here folks - keep on walking. On tap at The Beagle.

Solid looking beer. Full flavour beer...elements of coffee, metallics, some kind of fruit, roasted peanuts. Aroma is mild, dull, non-offensive. Light lingering bitterness that I did not expect. Daaaaaa what is this fruit in the taste? Some shorter uglier reviewers say apricot.... I can’t disagree. Fizzy feel. Caramel like sweetness arrives when room temp. Completely drinkable beer but it’s from a style that just doesn’t do it for me.

Part of the Pity 6 pack given to me by someone much less beautiful than I. Solid amber with a small fizzy off white cap and a bit of lacing. Bit of deep caramel, toasty almonds, faint apricot, hint of metallic notes. Decent flavour, almost too fizzy but not quite. Caramel, light fruit, mellow bitterness that hangs briefly, actually the dull bitterness hold up on the last half. Dry. If I actually enjoyed this style I’d probably like this. But that ain’t the case today.
