Can - Piney hops me some caramel. Cloudy Amber with a nice beige head. Lots of sweet caramel, orange notes and piney hops. Bitterness is a bit much in conjunction with a dry finish.

355 mol can from a four-pack from Liquor Depot, served in a lager pint glass. Pours a gorgeous clear, deep crimson-brown with a lovely medium tan head of peaked froth, akin to a root beer float, with delightful hills, valleys, and lots of lacing. Aroma is full of caramel, spiced coffee, chocolate-covered cherries, and a little floral and piney hops. Flavor is a gentle riot of dark, bitter chocolate, lightly spicy hops, caramel, and liqueur-soaked dark fruit. Dense and chewy palate, and the peppery, bitter chocolate lingers happily on the tongue. This is the most dynamic red ale I’ve had to date, and it’s wonderful...ideal for winter. Delicious; I’d love this aside a streak or prime rib. Stop Press: I only just realized this was a formidable 8% ABV Imperial ale, but I detected no ugly hints of malt liquor-iness. Still, despite its delectable nature, beware...this Siren, like the ones in "Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks!", can put you under its spell in no time.

Been hesitating about this one for no particularly good reason. I like red ales, I like strong ales, but this just had me looking elsewhere. Well, I finally jumped the fence and tried it on. Pours a nice burnt amber colour with minimal head. Aroma is strong on the resiny hops, and the flavour follows that up with a potent punch in the teeth with hops backed up with a nice mellow sweetness. A very good red ale for those of a hoppy bent.

From a can, thanks to tom10101 for this one! Pours a dark copper with a medium offwhite head that sticks heavily to the side of the glass. Nose is of intense caramel and toffee, huge hops and I feel like there is something off. Once every other whiff I get that sharp chemical aroma that I don’t really dig. Taste is of huge hops and caramel, american barleywine-ish. Balance is good, but flavors aren’t that refined or complex. Body is medium-full, carbonation moderate and mouthfeel sticky. Overall this was OK but not that interesting, felt like my first batch of homebrew (an IIPA, 1 gallon batch made with dry malt extract).

Can 355ml. Pours hazy dark amber with low-medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, caramel, apricots. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, sugar, raisin bread, bitterness. Palate: Full bodied. Soft-medium carbonation. Slightly sticky. Overall: Good. Tasty. Decent balance, just a tad too heavy (8% seems alot here).

Can. Medium amber brown with a golden head. Piney and chocolatey in equal proportion on the nose, with chocolate and caramel dominating the palate. Quite good if you don’t mind a sweeter malt profile.

Tall can. Delicious strong red -- great toffee malt nicely caries the strong bitterness of West Coast hops.

Can to snifter (thanks DuffMan). Looks good for the style; a hazy deep amber with foamy off-white head that has a light caramel tint to it. Smells hoppy and malty; a fuller bittersweet combo. Tastes like it smells with notes of toffee. Solid on the palate. Malty, but good.

Smells sweet, fruity with a bit of mustiness. Pours dark red, slightly murky with a thick light pink head. Tastes hoppy, notes of pine, floral with some sweetness of roasted malt or bread crusty. There is something unpleasant hiding in the taste, I can't pick it out, but it is there. Full body, moderate carbonation, bitter finish and somewhat astringent.

Drank from can, aroma of caramel. Taste is like an Amber IPA, it is quite delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
