Drank from can, aroma of caramel. Taste is like an Amber IPA, it is quite delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #1028 - March 17, 2014 - Sample can split with clients. Pours a bubbly ruby colour with a decent off white head that fades rapidly. Aroma is caramel toffee malt, sweet fruits, and sweet malty booze notes (oak, vanilla). Lots of similar flavours on the palate, lots of roast malt bitterness and another hit of booze unguarded in the finish. Crushable at 8% for full effect.

reddish-orange with a rather big head. Nose is pine all around with malt undertones. Smells like a barley wine with booze just hidden under it. Big body considering it is under 9%. Bitter finish with loads of malt and sweetness. Absurd label on this one, was this meant to be a WWII retro thing or just simply a bit sexist? Anyway, beer was very decent! Thanks duffman

355ml can. Red-orange pour, light haze. Beige head with tight bubbles, chunky lace. Malty nose - caramel and toffee, biscuity, some hops, bit of nut. Taste has a caramel and toffee base, some sweetness and nutty notes, grapefruity hops to balance. Medium bitter, bit of caramel at the end with some citrus. A good brew, good balance and goes down nicely for 8%.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Red dark amber color, beautiful, with compact head. Mild aroma, caramel. Good body strength, powerful caramel flavor, that, not in strength but in style, reminds me of the profile of English Barley Wines, medium sweet, a bit nutty; strong bitterness with a good balanced mix of hop resins and dark fruits.
Good beer, they got the max out of the ingredients.

Actually quite impressed by this brew. Pours out a dark ruby colour with a thin off yellow head. The nose is sweet and malty with hints of caramel, toffee, pine resin and big grapefruit. Nice and full flavour profile with a bit of a sweet caramel mid palate. Big grapefruit and pine notes on the finish with a moderate bitterness. Overall a nice brew.

355ml can pours amber in color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with some grapefruit. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with a grainy malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation leaving a grainy feeling on the palate. A pretty high quality brew coming from a can and definitely recommended.

A 355 ml can from a 4-pack purchased at BC Liquor Store in North Burnaby. The pour reveals a deep, dark (dare I add delicious?) reddish amber ale, with generous beige head. Citrus piney hops lead the flavor parade, with a muted but noticeable malt backing. Wow! This baby has my vote. This is one of the most interesting local beers to come out of an aluminum can since Red Racer IPA. Congratulations to the folks at Lighthouse for this one!

Dark red pour, mediocre head with lasting lace. Sweet hoppy nose, fresh blast. Very nice balance of hops and malts. Sweet on the tongue, but fades away and ends with a bit of bitter. Wasn’t sure what to expect with this offering from lighthouse. Admit, I was surprised in a good way. The high alc. didn’t ruin the flavours. Enjoyable and would be had again. Thanks for the leftovers lagerboy.

355 ml can. Mostly clear deep red copper, foamy tan head settles into a lasting ring. Evergreen citric sweet malt aroma, orange and grapefruit. Piney citric hop, toasty caramel malt taste, earthy and faintly floral. Average carbonation, medium bodied, medium hopped. ABV is well hidden. Well balanced and very tasty, a pleasant surprise; at first glance thought this would be a 4 pack of malty liquor. (Amusing they had to cover her crack but were allowed to leave a coin slot and side boob.) NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
