3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ BC Liquors. Clear golden pour with a white head. Nose is kind of innocuous. Minimal hop aromas. Just sort of grassy and floral, maybe a touch vegetal. Some sweet bread in there as well. Flavor is similarly bland. Some bread, cracker, and. Dry faint hops. Notes of grass and dried flowers. Meh.

From the Lighthouse Sampler. A very peppery start with sweet toffee. Is balanced with a mineral-like bitterness, tropical fruit in the finish. Very drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden-amber, slightly chewy, the malts are a bit chewy, but there’s some florals from the NZ, bubbly head, sweetish overall, leaning towards chewy, with just a touch of NZ hops. Decent beer

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A mostly underwhelming and boring APA with a lightly toasted cara malt and mild hops. Pours a pale golden amber with a thick soapy beige head. The nose is sweet, toasty and grassy with mild citrus hop aromas. Quite mild overall with a good balance.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful hop aromas with a nice lite malt backbone. Pours a nice amber colour and has a very typical ale taste. Nice bitterness and a medium length finish. An excellent example of an American Pale Ale.

Tap. Golden with small head. Very mild pale ale. Light hops and very dry finish. Reminds me a bit of Vernors.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
On tap at Bitter Tasting Room on Hastings in Vancouver. A pale orange amber with a bit of head. No nose to speak of. Not sure how to describe the taste and mouth feel. Slightly sweet with a trace of malt. No bitterness detected. It’s beer (I guess) but only barely. Nuh!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Well-balanced nothing-at-all beer. Not sure where it starts, where it begins, and it ends quick. Pours orange with good lacing, some head. Finishes a little sour with slight sweetness. On tap at Garrick’s Head.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 Bottle to Unibroue tulip.
Aroma: Sour but floral, biscuit undertones, the aroma is mostly in favor of the hops. Lots of citrus, spice and biscuit.
Appearance: Clear dark amber with a mousse-like white head.
Taste: Lots of bittersweet in this with a bitter finish.
Palate: Thin, somewhat dry and bitter finish which unfortunately reminds me of an ashtray. This hop variety seems to have more fruit taste to it rather than plant but maybe I’m imagining shit. Biscuit finish. This is pretty clean and refreshing.
Overall: Great beer...good balance, high drinkability. Definitely well crafted.
