Bottle: this brewery really takes the styles to the limt, in a good way. Becoming a big fan of Lightning. Food Pairing: Cheese platter.

Wow. Don't think I've had a more fully flavored Belgian. Think saison on steroids. ABV undetectable too!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the Stone 17th anniversary festival. Unclear orange, off-white head. Sweet nose, canned tropical fruits, white sugar. Some grassy, light piney hops. The flavor is mostly on the hoppy side, the malty sweetness lurking in the back. Sweet on the palate, full body, lightly warming. Too sweet this one, but not bad. 130817

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a very hazy amber color with almost no head on it. Nose has some citrus in there with a little bit of that "wild" smell, but not an overpowering smell at all. Taste is slightly sour up front with a bit of a sweet finish with some of the wheaty elements of it coming through. Feels a bit heavy and rather carbonated.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Got sent up a gift pack of North County San Diego brews. This was one. Very hazy pour, little head, no real lacing. Somewhat flat. Very banana, which actually ain’t too bad. Finished fairly clean with small amounts of pencil lead and apricot.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
No way that this is the style listed. Dark murky honey pour with a sizable eggshell head. Caramel, toffee, yeast, candied citrus, orange peel, and black pepper. Too heavy. Definitely not a Saison...but still tasty and drinkable. Heavy but enjoyable.
