Flavors are of marmalade, ice tea, lightly bready, crystal malt, medium floral, medium bitter, grassy, earthy, mild citrus. Medium to medium full carbonation. 3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Taster at the brewery in Poway. Pours a slightly hazy orange body with a finger-width, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is grainy and bready with a deeper and crisper hop. A mix of citrus and melons with a touch of honey sweetness. Flavor is similar with a bit of yeast spice to go along with the balanced flavor. Dry finish with a spicy malt aftertaste. Full bodied and smooth. Overall, the brewer said this was supposed to be an English style pale ale, so I didn’t expect it to be over the top. Not bad for the style at all.
