The Thunderweizen is brewed in the style of a traditional German Hefeweizen: lots of wheat, vigorous fermentation, and completely unfiltered for a full, refreshing flavor that perfectly compliments San Diego’s perpetual good weather. Despite the hints of banana, citrus, clove, and other spices, we do not add additives to our beer - that impressive flavor is naturally produced.

650 bottle from Bevmo. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head that has good retention. The aroma is a big blast of banana and banana bread. The flavor, like the aroma, showcases banana with just a touch of tart lemony hops filling in the sides, add a touch of clove and a big sweet finish with lots of banana bread. The palate is thick and creamy. Finishes long and dry. Overall: Wow, possibly the best American Hefe that does not have the tag "New Glarus" on it. I loved it.

Bottle. Label shows 5.5% ABV. Hazy gold pour with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet malt, wheat yeast notes, banana and soft spice. Taste is big wheat and yeast notes, soft spice, banana, and sweet malt. Typical hefeweizen taste but done well. Body is light-medium with a slightly fizzy, bubbly, carbonation. Ends with more wheat/grains, light bread dough, yeast, sweet malt, banana and soft spice.

Candied banana and rotten egg aromas. Banana flavors. Tastes better when you hold your nose. Overall blah.

Bomber from Holiday Wine Cellar. Murky yellow-gold color; this pours with a thick head on top that leaves a notch of lacing after each sip. Yeast, banana, wheat, vanilla, and light cinnamon in the aroma. Nice and soft going down, bubblegum replaces the banana with all other flavors mirroring the scent. Just the right amount of spice to compliment the sweetness of the beer. Nice Hefe. This was a pleasant surprise. It?s smooth, clean, refreshing, and pretty tasty.

Not much head at all, hazy golden w a touch of amber, no lacing... aggitation makes the head look excellent... big big banana aroma, lightly spicy, some clove is notable... not very carbonated, light to medium body... decent flavor, banana and spice... pretty easy drinking...

bottle... watery murky honey gold, light head, not much to look at... really interesting nose on this one, not a hefe at all, really hoppy with a bit of sour musky, almost like a gose, has me confused but I like it... really easy to drink, light grains, a bit of sourness, wheat, nice hoppy finish... nothing outstanding but easy to drink and refreshing
