3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Plainfield, IL). Finally made it down to check this place out. Pours a nice hazy golden straw hue, a decent sized brighter white head atop dies to a thicker film, laces ok like soap. Aromas are more of a witbier base, touches of coriander and orange peel pair with flaked wheat, bready dough, touches of fruit and a mellow darker raspberry presence. Coriander is a bit fierce, but overall not invasive. Initial is lighter bodied, some coriander spice up front moves into bread dough, touches of yeast, lemons and oranges. The berry hue comes in a bit after the fact with touches of mellow coriander, flaked wheat. Finish leaves a touch of bitterness but is generally a smooth summer sipper, cool and mellow sweetness. This is a bit too "Wit"-y for me, but I get it and see itís appeal. A nice fruited wheat. But not as assertive on the fruit as preferred.
