Pleasant toffee scent of malts. Dark brown creamy lasting top. Smooth caramel notes give a pleasant foundation for an easy drinking porter. Bitter tang in the background. The pick of the core LG range.

Cask at The Wilkes Head, Leek. A deep brown colour with a frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, burnt toast, chocolate and a little liquorice. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate, ash, dry earthy hops and a hint of blackberry. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A dry, bitter chocolate finish. A decent rich porter, quite bitter but pleasant.

Fruity kind of oyster aroma. Darkest black woody colour. Sweet with a strange undertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Derby/National Winter Ales Festival 2015 Pours dark brown/black with a single finger tan head. Aroma of Blackberries and Dark Chocolate. Taste of initial Blackberries then some light smokiness, a lot of Coffee and an awful lot of Dark Chocolate, very nice!

Black with creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts and a bit of coffee. Really smooth and creamy. Feels quite rich. Nicely bitter from the roast malt.

Hand-pulled half-pint at the Chesterfield Ale House on 20th Nov 2014. Poured a clear dark brown, on top a weak but lasting tanned head. Dry roasted maltiness rules the brew, the nose has maltiness all over it, as does the flavour. Mild bitter chocolate notes within the dryness, some dark fruit hints in there as well. I took to this, my last beer of the session.
