COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gouverneur Brune (Brown) is truly a special beer. This top-fermented beer, with an alcohol content of 6,5% by volume, derives its very characteristic flavour from two varieties of dark caramel malt. This caramel malt gives the beer a unique taste and a deep, ruby-red colour. Lindeboom uses the best ingredients for all Gouverneur Beer, like Tetnanger hop from the South of Germany and, more importantly, the almost 140 years old brewing tradition.

(bottle, 30cl) Clear, brown colour with a beige and tall foamy head. Toasty malty, slightly sugary aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate, red berries and strawberries. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Rather slim malty base with toasty caramel accents, accompanied by berry fruits and a tinge of chocolate; notes of alcohol show up during the finish. 15.X.12

Bottle, bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours murky dark red, with a medium, frothy, beige head. Aroma is mild, sweet caramel, yeast, raisins, plums. Highish carbonation, fairly dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit chalky dry, caramel, plums, soft chocolate. Kinda average.

Bottle. Dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sugary sweetish aroma, some caramel and light fruitiness – dark berries. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and light fruitiness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, light caramel and light alcohol. Sweetish brune with caramel, nothing special.

Bottle: Almost clear, ruby-amber coloured, persistent small off-white head, sweet and clear caramelly-fruity nose with a well hidden bitterness; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite full bodied, but a bit fizzy; lingering sweetish malty-fruity finish, followed by a slight alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Nice....
