3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark brown color. Maltaroma with soft caramelly notes. Caramelly sweet flavor, hopped enough to show hints of grass. Just a hint of licorice. A bit sticky in the aftertaste, but overall a nice clean doppelbock.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium to bigger sized, vast and slow changing/disappearing ashy light brown light tan colored head on top of an almost clear darker ruby colored beer.
Smell toasted/roasted barleys, raisins, caramel, toffee, hint of liquorice wood, light light vinous note, some nuts, prunes, cherries, creamy, fruit liquor. Fine smelling beer.
Taste toasted barley malts, caramel, toffee, prunes, hint of tobacco, toasted autumnal leaves, syrupy iron, creamy, bitter, toasted grass, spicy, earthy. Very well balanced and tasty.
After a while, luckily, the iron is gone!
Aftertaste is a mix of toasted autumnal herbs, toasted leaves, bitters, some spices, earth and malty nuts.
Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture.
Bit too much iron in the beginning, but furtherwise this is a fine bock beer!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Apparently specially brewed for Mitra, but De Bierwinkel Leiden had it anyway. :) Pours a dark amber, clear body with frithy stable beige head. Mild and accessible aroma, caramel malts and a clean yeast profile. all it boring, but its quite delicate and nothing wrong.Taste is equally accessible, with light sweet roasted taste and onyl very little hops. Very clean and therefore not very exciting. Even cleaner than the biggest Dutch brewers do, but it’s a well executed bok. (33cl bottle)
