3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Not my style but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. Not bad, quite a subdued nose on it. Mainly dried fruits, toasted malts and caramel. Caramel and toffee fills the mouth, some currants and raisins in there. Not bad at all and rather well balanced

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
At just on cool and into a snifter. Nearing the end of good beer date so best get it in. Pours radiant to be joined by a clump or two of yeast that quickly disperses to give it a mist. Dark russet mahogany with a fine bead and yielding a compact and tight, satiny beige crown that lasts and laces well. Deep, robust malty thick nose. Woody and nutty with what is reminiscent of sherry soaked chocolate mudcake coming through with a little hint of mace, cinnamon and vanilla, very nice. Sweet start in the mouth. Lots of residual sticky toffee and caramelised sugar. Creamy, soft mouthfeel, the body lighter than expected. A little rust and blood in back, noticeable astringency but well played. Plum and dark stone fruits, and bitter raisins in the swallow with just a touch of wood late. Residual, lingers long in between sips. This is great drinking stuff. A solid Bock! 2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle courtesy of Ekstedt shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours clear chestnut brown with an off-white head that quickly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, tiny sour and stale with bread, red berries and a chemical smell reminding me of glue and/or cleanser. Taste is sweet with bread, bread-spices, red berries and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and sour with bread and red berries.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
300 ml bottle, poured into a snifter. ABV 7%
Very dark ruby and mahogany colours on the body. On top. a thick tan head, two fingers tall, leaving beautiful lacing as it lazy disappears. Very nice.
Light aromas of roasted malts and coffee, along with even lighter caramel notes.
Taste is sweet, lots of flavours on the aftertaste mainly, where it actually turns to a light bitterness. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate.
Very nice full body, with right amounts of carbonation. Creamy palate.
Overall, I can say I discovered this a bit late on the season, but it was one of the best I tried this year.
