COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Lindeboom Oud Bruin (Old Brown) has its own drinkers. This sweet and very malty beer is distinctly dark. Fans drink it as dark beer, but also add it to Lindeboom Pilsener to make a ’half-and-half’ or an ’infusion’. The flavour and colour of Lindeboom Oud Bruin are the result of the traditional brewing process, where, during the brewing a very dark malt syrup is added to the brew and afterwards the beer is even sweetened a little. Lindeboom Oud Bruin is as sweet as life is here.

Chocolate malt sweet fruit aroma. Dark brown colour poor head and lacing. Malt sweet cherry chocolate flavour. Thin palate.

4-Jan-2012 (Warners at the Bay - $4) Light sweet choc malt and very light hop fruit aroma. Dark brown colour, ordinary head out of bottle and no lacing. Simple sweet choc malt flavour. Light bittering, syrupy palate and a stale sick malt aftertaste. I’m glad this beer was a cheapie, but l guess this may true to oud bruin.

330mL bottle Ruby body, persistant tight white head. Aroma of malt extract and caramel, bit of a vinous red berry edge to it. Light bodied, lowish carbonation, drying on the finish. Very sweet up front, almost cloyingly so. Caramel, cola flavours, drops away quickly, funky sort of almost lactic twang on the finish. Low bitterness. Way too sweet, something to balance out of the sweetness (bitterness/sourness) would be nice. No my thing that’s for sure.

Home 20110529 (30 cl bottle): A clear rubish-red beer with a good brown foam layer. Hardly no smell (malty/caramel and sweet). A strong sweet taste with some brown-malltyness. In the finish slighty hopbitter but still sweet and sticky. Not so nice sweetness.

Dark brown body with short lasting head. Sugary caramel aroma with the taste not much better. Tried to like it somewhat but couldn’t.

Bottle: Deep chestnut-amber coloured, no head to speak of; sweet burnt malt and instant-coffee in the nose; very sweet flavour, light bodied; short sweet malty finish, almost no counterweight detectable. No repetition necessary....

Bottle. Dark brown color. Sweet sugary caramelly flavor with molasses. Hint of chicken food. Sticky mouthfeel. Too sweet.
