COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Venloosch Wit (White) is a top-fermented beer with a hazy, slightly yellowish colour, brewed by a special recipe of our own, in which wheat is used as a basic ingredient, besides the usual barley malt. This refreshing beer has an alcohol content of 5% by volume. A beer for all seasons, but of course it is especially in demand in summer because of its refreshing lemon taste.

33CL bottle at home, done from memory so I don’t know exactly everything, not the best white beer I have had but it was drinkable.

Not the best Belgian style wit available in the Netherlands. In fact, this one isn’t all the readily available and there are so many better wits available nationwide. This one is watery, little spicing, has next to no nose, and a weak wheat body.

In Quattro Mori in Mestreech. Color is murky light yellow colour with mediumsized white fluffy head. Spicy sour nose. Aroma is acidic, spicy and sour. Flavour is about the same with fruity finish. Very acidic at the end. You need hot weather to like this.

Draught: Medium sized vast white head on top of an almost clear yellow colored beer. Smell grains, wheat, soup, some bitter hints. Not such a good smell, at least I didn’t like it. Taste flowers, puke, wheat, plants, vanilla, citrus, lemon, orange, unbalanced. Aftertaste is creamy with wheat, bitter, lemon and again unbalanced. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium unbalanced body and a creamy texture. Unbalanced beer, couldn’t get myself to finish it!

Test vom 2.11.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,9,8,10,9 - 8,80

On tap at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. It’s an odd greenish yellow shade that would normally look out of place. Lots of lemon, lime, green apple and herbal notes with a sherbet-like spritz. A little better than I’d hoped in terms of body. Very refreshing on a warm day down by the Amsterdam canals.

Cloudy pale yellow pour with a white head. A tart pear aroma, some mild spice notes, and a fair amount of bready malt sweetness. Light coriander and citrus peel. The taste is a bit tart and light with some sweetness of bread. A fair amount of fruity esters, coriander, and light citrus peel bitterness.
